| Angels and Airwaves – Et Ducit Mundum Per Luce Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| "And lead the world by light" would be "Et ducimus mundum lumine". | |

The ocean, is on fire The sky turned dark again As the boats came in And the beaches Stretched out with soldiers With their arms and guns It has just begun WWII ... D-Day. Please stop talking about blink vs ava vs bcr vs +44. This is a meaning site, not a politics site. |

| Yellowcard – Dear Bobbie Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Rather than: "We drove the yellow convertible all night long. Do you remember? I do." Is it not: "We drove the yellow convertible on our honeymoon. Do you remember? I do." |

| Atreyu – Shameful Lyrics | 18 years ago |

| InMe – Cracking The Whip Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Okies, the bits I kinda guessed at are: 1) "Ithiel has dropped his crown" - Ithiel is the only mythological character I could come up with that sounds like what Dave is saying ... 2)"(But you're not true)" - Would guess this is wrong, but the correct lyric certainly ends in "Truth". 3) "Ever all still bleaming" - 'bleaming' is not actually a word but I could not come up with anything better ... anyone any ideas? 4) "Please not guilty in another life" - Almost certainly, the word 'life' is not correct. 5) "Breaking the war chess" ... if it is 'war chess' then I question the word 'Breaking'. If it is 'Breaking', then 'war chess' is questionable. Does make a tiny bit of sence, but certainly not crystal clear... |

| Could be wrong, did it by ear ... | |
| Atreyu – The Crimson Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I always thought it was "Fresh meat for YOUR desire"... hmm, guess I was wrong. | |
| Funeral for a Friend – On A Wire Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Ah, yes, sorry about that. I had trouble figuring out what was being said here, I was typing at the same time as listening to the song on FFAF MySpace. Listened to that bit over and over, but the best I could come up with was the "Why believe sos" as in why believe the s.o.s call will save us? ... but I was wrong. When you listen to it again knowing the correct lyric, it is still hard to pick out, but is definately there. | |
| Funeral for a Friend – Walk Away Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Very very very pop-py | |
| Funeral for a Friend – On A Wire Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| A good song, obviously refering to the hours after the boat has sunk... | |
| Funeral for a Friend – Hospitality Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The greatest FFAF song ever? Simply due to the awesomeness of the end, this song takes the title from The Art Of American Football IMO | |
| Funeral for a Friend – Rise And Fall Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Awesome song, will have a think about what it means ... Not to sure about how correct the following lyric is ... but its the best I could come up with ... "Under turrets we close the call," |

| Funeral for a Friend – Into Oblivion (Reunion) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I saw them play this song live in Polzeath. Rocked my socks off! | |
| Funeral for a Friend – Out of Reach Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Agree with WritingOn thewalls in that it isn't as good as some of the stuff on hours ... but IMO FFAF have a bit of a reputation for releasing shit songs as singles... | |
| Funeral for a Friend – Out of Reach Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I have hardly listened to this song, but, fuck me, if this is what "Tales don't tell themselves" is going to sound like ... I'm super psyched to hear it! My first impression is that this song is about a wife, a mother, a woman and her agony in losing family members in times of conflict. |

| Rise Against – The Good Left Undone Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Lyric correction: "When I do I dream of drowning in the ocean, Longing for the shore where I can LAY MY HEAD DOWN, I’ll follow your voice..." Absolutely brilliant song. Symbolises life perfectly, "In fields where nothing grew but weeds, I found a flower at my feet". Just when you think all is lost, something goes your way and adds a little colour back into the black and white. He has broken up with someone he loves. He can't sleep, if he does, he just has nightmares. He can't escape the cycle of it. The flower symbolises that there is hope and that he could patch things up. Replacing the flower into the dirt shows strongly that he wants to get back with this girl, and he belives that previous niggling hope that has stopping him from moving on, and has turned his world to "weeds". He now BELIEVES it possible to undo all of that. "All because of you, I believe in angels. Not the kind with wings, No, not the kind with halos" This person is obviously very very special to him. She made him see that there are good people out there in the world, there are 'angels'. Would you want to lose a person like that? I wouldn't. Again he is emphasising what this girl means. All she has to do is realise what he means to her and he will come running back. |

| Rise Against – Prayer Of The Refugee Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
One other thing, is it: Don’t hold me up now, I can STEER my own ground, I don’t need your help now, You will let me down, down, down! I am not really sure... |
|
| Rise Against – Prayer Of The Refugee Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Yeah, just about being let down by authority. This song was orginally named "Diaspora" which can be associated to the dispersion of Jews outside of Israel from the sixth century, or, to the dispersion of a people from their original homeland. |

| Rise Against – Injection Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Meaning of this song? Everybody needs somebody to fall back on. |
|
| Rise Against – Drones Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
All about the general working population. The person in the song is trying to break the cycle, forget the old person and reinvent him/herself - "forget my name and I'll forget it too". The comparisons in this song work well, "The drones will slave away, they’re working overtime, They serve a faceless queen, they never question why.", comparing big companies to a faceless queen. The "drones", i.e. workers, know what they have to do, but don't know why they do it. However, it seems as if the storyteller is saying that he/she cannot break away from the grasp of large organisations, and in the end he keeps coming back. |

| Funeral for a Friend – Recovery Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think this song is all about trying to get together with somebody. But each time he gets close, something happens and he is pushed away again - its like a constant game "this is not a new game, so don't think that you know", he is afraid to look within as he knows the truth, nothing will ever happen "scare to open up these eyes to see just what's inside" - He KNOWS what is inside. By the end of the song he eventually he gets very close and asks for her to "promise me you will not ever leave", but it happens again and he is pushed away. She cant see what she is doing to him "can you see these bloodshot eyes". By now, his "strength is failing" and the relationship has been left scarred "It just doesn't feel the same". | |
