Yeah I think that it was more of a thing where Hillel was always around her but she never returned his love. And that he tried to ignore but couldn't. In his journals he wrote about her all the time, for like a 4 year period even if he was talking about some other girl that he wanted to get with in the same passage. Poor guy |

Yeah, those lyrics arn't right man Firstly it's 'getting sicker by the minute with debauchery' Then there is a bunch of stuff that need fixin' but i think that the lyrics to the song are talking about how people need to stop being greedy and only worrying about themselves; which flows quite well with the theme of the ablum[Californication]. But then its talking about those who arn't greedy will end up on top because they won't be destroyed by overwhelming themselves. |

I think the last part, the part that John sings 'Why? What we mean is the first thing that we dream...of blood, etc." Is sort of asking why the things that we wish for the most in this world never seem to work out. Maybe everything previous to that is about a love that someone stole from them and that they are lost and don't know what to do without their love. |

This is an amazing song But I think that Kiedis wrote this a lot like he used to write. He wasn't writing about someone or something that he's experienced. But instead he's mixing his ideas into words. This is why I feel in love with the band Because they set up the songs so that you make it what you wanna make it. The lyrics could be about drugs or about lost love, it works both ways and thats the magic of it. So don't argue about it, take it as you see it. |
