| Jack Penate – Torn on the Platform Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I agree with Matt leaving the city means leaving his girl. So maybe he's got offered a job somewhere but that would mean leaving the city and his girl. In the end the song speaks for itself, he hasa change of heart and decides to stay at the last minute. | |
| Nerina Pallot – Learning To Breathe Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's a very deep song, i think it means about learning to share whats on your mind and not to bottle it all up. To talk to other people as there will always be other people with similar problems, you're not on your own. Stop worrying so much and enjoy life. | |
| The Beautiful South – Rotterdam (Or Anywhere) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

How can only 5 people have commented this?! It is one of my favourite all time songs. Sounds to me like he's fed up with the people in his life at the moment or just generally in life. He just wants to escape from it all and have some peace and quiet to himself? |

| Colin Hay – Maggie Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Wow no ones commented? This is amazing song. I'm not quite sure what it means. Suicide? It almost certainly ends in her death. | |
| Van Morrison – Cleaning Windows Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Such a joyful song, i discovered it on my locals jukebox. Did he write this while he was still cleaning windows? As long as you're happy thats what matters. Brilliant song. | |

| Eagle-Eye Cherry – Don't Give Up Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think you're spot on and if you watch the video i think what you say is very evident. Team effort, keep going, don't give up. | |
| Nizlopi – Girls Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Agree tears to eyes is what thissong does, why? I have no idea. I think maybe because of what BSR said about the sad twist. I prefer this over JCB song. I think this underlines they're not a one hit wonder and are a great band | |
| Lifehouse – Somewhere In Between Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
To me it is my life at the moment. A girl i was head over heels with has just got a b.f. and we've gradually been fading out of each others lives as we both had less time so talk less. Now she's got a b.f. i know we're hardly ever going to talk and it is if you like the final nail in the coffin "Give me a few hours I'll have this all sorted out If my mind would just stop racing" "This is over my head But underneath my feet Cause by tomoroow morning I'll have this thing beat And everything will be back to the way that it was I wish that it was just that easy " I keep thinking i'll find a way to keep our friendship together and try to bring it back to as close as we were a few months ago. It is out of my control now, we're 80 miles apart so there is very little i can do. "Cause I'm waiting for tonight Been waiting for tomoroow I'm somewhere in between What is real Just a dream " You say give me a few hours i'll sort it out and by tomorrow morning it'll be alright. But tomorrow morning is just not arriving hence the "been waiting for tomorrow" "Would you catch me if I fall out of what I fell in Dont be surprised if I collapse down at your feet again I don't want to run away from this I know that I just don't need this " The first line i think is falling in love and then slowly growing apart but you don't want to so will the girl catch you before you hit the ground (i.e. stop the rot, stop growing apart). The easiest way to solve this would be to run away from the situation say its over but you don't want to. "Cause I cannot stand still I can be this unsturdy This cannot be happening" Again the realisation of what is happening and you can't handle it/don't want it to happen "What is real Just a dream " This again don't want to believe its happening wish it was just a dream so you can wake up the next morning and its solved. Just my bit. :) |

| Paul Simon – 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Weak lyrics? Look at them. They're very clever. Maybe not meaningful. I agree its just a bit of fun! | |
| Paul Simon – You Can Call Me Al Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Paul Simon is a genius. Rather than just look at the meaning taking it at face value there are few songs which do a better job of putting a smile on your face and making you laugh especially the video. Great tune. Its just about his life and facing the hurdles it confronts you with. If you'll be my bodyguard I can be your long lost pal It's just about asking for friendship isn't it? If you help protect me against this world i'll be your friend. So i agree when you say its about friendship |
