| I dont know if Ben is talking about himself at all, but I think that the song is about how he wanted to be with someone so bad, that put himself throught quite a bit of pain. He says that he "elected hell" which makes me think it was a concious choice he made. He doesnt know how long it will take to get over her, so he's encouraging her to try and get over him as well. Thats what I get from it at least. | |

I think Kilanofilla is right, but with the added precaution that if you dont work hard, and keep working even when things dont look like they are the best, then you need stop relying on other people, and get business done yourself. ("Go get your map and compass and don't listen to them.....And you're your only friend so go") This is the best song on the album (even better then Time and Time Again) if you're reading this and havnt bought the album yet, buy it, its worth it. |

I cant beleive this song doesnt have any comments on it yet, over a year after the song was posted. I think this song is about how life can be tough sometimes, that you may be locked in stasis, never changing, but you cant just be passive, because that would mean life would pass you by. Instead, you have to face the difficulties of life, because thats when it becomes clearest, and easiest. ("Ins't life just the clearest when You face interferences with an aim for fearlessness") This is an awesome band, and this song in particular is very good. |

I think that the song is about being friends with someone for a really long time, and then realizing that they have had an interest in you, ("Been saving truth in a pile, Standing in front of it, Obstructing your view with my smile") and then deciding to change the relationship in order to freshen things up and get back on the same page. A great song, one of the best on the album, (I liked all the tracks) heres to a speedy follow up album! |
