Bruce Springsteen – One Step Up Lyrics | 8 years ago |
@[fordtrucker1986:8938] you shouldn't spend that long in a hot tub you can get deydrated, you may get skin problems and of course a hot tub is full of other peoples fecal matter. Sorry to hear about your break up. |
The Cribs – Glitters Like Gold Lyrics | 9 years ago |
these lyrics are wrong, wrong, wrong!!! |
Pixies – What Goes Boom Lyrics | 10 years ago |
This is a song about themselves making music. |
The Smashing Pumpkins – Soot and Stars Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I don't think there is any deep meaning to this song. As far as I can read / hear it is about the band; being on tour, fame, the hangers on. Looking back on the band's career. I also thought the line "in a friend called near" should be "in a friend called Neil" . Neil Young. |
The Smashing Pumpkins – Shame Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think this is about Jimmy Chamberlain. The closing lyrics "hello, goodbye, you know you made us cry..." seem to fit in with what was happening to the band at the time. |
The Smashing Pumpkins – Perfect Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think Corgan wrote this about his ex-wife, i can't remember her name Jennifer perhaps? The important lines for me are "angel, you know it's not the end we'll always be good friends the letters have been sent on " I always imagine the letters being sent on are divorce papers and that he is telling her that they will still be good friends. I could be wrong but that's how i hear it. |
Blondie – Dreaming Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Heinrich you dumb fuck - it's D'Arcy from the pumpkins not Debbie Harry. It was recorded at D'Arcy's husband's studio you idiot. And a measure as in a measure of alcohol. A glass of booze. you're so stupid. |
The Smashing Pumpkins – We Only Come Out at Night Lyrics | 15 years ago |
this song is about the band - they only come out at night because they play concerts at night time. vampires? holy shit you've got to be kidding right? |
Weezer – The Angel and the One Lyrics | 16 years ago |
beautiful song. i always thought it was about sexual bliss. the purple majesty part is what makes me think so, and the ecstacy and anticipation line. |
Afghan Whigs – Crime Scene Part One Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i'm sure i read an interview with Dulli somewhere and he said this song is about a girl committing suicide. Makes sense when you listen to the words. "tonight, tonight I said goodbye, to everyone who's loved me..." sad and beautiful. |
Bob Mould – Can't Fight It Lyrics | 17 years ago |
such a sad , sad song. It's about two people in a relationship who have drifted apart and realised that what was once great has now gone and that there is no point in being together. pretty simple really, but very heartbreaking. |
Modest Mouse – Perfect Disguise Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i concur with robothouse 100%. this is about the rape allegations. it's so obvious. |
Belle & Sebastian – Rhoda Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i don't know but there is a woman in my work called Rhoda. she is a twat. |
Idlewild – Self Healer Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is inspired by the band Placebo. The main riff of the song is very Brian Molko-esque and the 'Self Healer' part relates to the term 'placebo'. great song!! |
Big Audio Dynamite – E=mc2 Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is a tribute to film director Nicolas Roeg. Each verse relates to one of his films ('Don't Look Now', 'The Man Who Fell To Earth', 'Performance' and 'Insignificance' amongst others). The film clips you see throughout the video are from his movies and relate directly to what Mick Jones is singing - for example the line about ..'Little red riding hood' shows footage of the weird old woman in Don't Look Now. The video was directed by Roeg's son. It is also the first song ever to use samples. |
Belle & Sebastian – Roy Walker Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is about Bruce Forsyth and his gay affair with Les Dennis. |
Belle & Sebastian – Funny Little Frog Lyrics | 18 years ago |
check you out mavs41. so you have seen them live? me too. the gig I was at Stuart Murdoch told the crowd it was about his own life as a musician and his most autobiographical song yet. so who is right ? me, thats who. |
Belle & Sebastian – Funny Little Frog Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i think you are all stupid. the meaning of the song is him being a musician. the verses quite clearly relate to him being a musician in a band and he loves his life how it is, even if it means going deaf. The 'had a conversation with you' part is him singin to the crowd the funny little ftog in his throat means he had a sore throat from singing too much. it is about him being in a band and his musical career. |
