I don't think there is any deep meaning to this song. As far as I can read / hear it is about the band; being on tour, fame, the hangers on. Looking back on the band's career. I also thought the line "in a friend called near" should be "in a friend called Neil" . Neil Young. |

I think Corgan wrote this about his ex-wife, i can't remember her name Jennifer perhaps? The important lines for me are "angel, you know it's not the end we'll always be good friends the letters have been sent on " I always imagine the letters being sent on are divorce papers and that he is telling her that they will still be good friends. I could be wrong but that's how i hear it. |

This song is a tribute to film director Nicolas Roeg. Each verse relates to one of his films ('Don't Look Now', 'The Man Who Fell To Earth', 'Performance' and 'Insignificance' amongst others). i think you are all stupid. the meaning of the song is him being a musician. the verses quite clearly relate to him being a musician in a band and he loves his life how it is, even if it means going deaf. The 'had a conversation with you' part is him singin to the crowd the funny little ftog in his throat means he had a sore throat from singing too much. it is about him being in a band and his musical career. |
