| Pink – Oh My God (feat. Peaches) Lyrics

I've always heard the line in Peaches' end rap as "you make a drop in the cotton", as in you make my panties wet... I can hear nothing else there, but every lyrics site I can find gives either this version or even "you make it drop and get on 'em". Am I crazy? Can anyone defend "you make a drop and then caught 'em"? What would it mean? |

It means those teenage years (or later) when you're depressed and you think no-one else understands you. Wish you would look around and realise there are thousands of people feeling the same, only you're too busy feeling misunderstood to look around and see how little effort you're making to understand anyone else. And don't think I don't understand; been there, done that, got the prescription medication. My Doctor said 1 in 10 people who go to her go because of depression. You're not alone, stop pretending you are so you can wallow in self pity. Have a go at understanding your parents, rather than telling them they don't understand you. It's 6 years since I was diagnosed, and I'm still here, getting on with a damn good life (off the pills and everything).

| Antony and the Johnsons – Hope There's Someone Lyrics

It's beautiful expression, to me, of the fear experienced by an agnostic (I don't say "atheist" because the "hope" shows that the narrator hasn't given up on the existence of a superior being); you can't believe any of the propositions put forward by established religions, but the thought of really being uncared for on a universal scale is terrifying. Maybe i really am antlike and insignificant, maybe there's no purpose to life, and maybe there is no justice in death. The relationship the narrator describes is like a long term lover (I know from experience how you can love someone so much it fills the human spiritual need,as though they give life its purpose, and Antony so often blurs the lines between spiritual love and love of another human), or almost like a parent, protecting and caring, the way they seem when you are a child and mum and dad can make everything better. If they suddenly weren't there, you'd be left vulnerable and alone. I really really hope there's someone, but I just can't believe... Sorry guys, bit deep there... |

Beautiful song...especially having come out of a messy break up. There's baggage and there's history and she's a mess inside, but a new relationship is a new beginning. So full of hope... |

"In the depths of destruction, there is but one golden rule, look not unto your neighbour, save yourself first you silly fool", what is this "window" rubbish? |

I agree with iheartrilokiley, it is "our poor friend jim, well he just lived within, the slow fade of love". Not sure what it means, but that's definitley what she says. Also it's "you can sleep upon my doorstep, you can promise me INDIFFERENCE Jim", as in it doesn't matter whether he camps out declaring his love or pretends he doesn't care, it just makes no difference anymore. |

| Placebo – Brick Shithouse Lyrics

Just wanted to point out that "built like a brick shithouse" is a VERY widely used phrase for a big rugby playing type, the archaic link to real outdoor toilets went with the toilets themselves (a long time ago, for anyone unacquainted with history...). Simple meaning that fits the rest of the song... |
