O. I totally agree with you guys, though I also think that this song is about protecting. So it's not only the gyu who's nervous, but the girl too. He want's to reassure her that it's ok, needs to protect her, or so I get that, especially the "I'm breathing for two" part. But you know, this is only the way I see it. Oh, but do you actually think that he really cared about her? Or maybe he did, but was too afraid 2 show/admit it, since I also think that after the scene he was pretending that it never happened. So he he got cold feet when he realised that he cares about her. |

| Hm. I actually never thought that he loved her that much, but maybe u R right. Though I still think that she was the foolish 1, not him, and that's what he's sayin. | |

| Yeah, maybe that's also true. Though he really doesn't seem to be suffering form heartaches or anything, he just wants to show her that cheating him was a huge loss. I can't that he made a fool of himself. And the dancing to boys' tune was more of a refer to boys and girls in general. The girls need to satisfy their hunger of romance, so they'll do anything that the boys would give them the longed romance. | |

I just came up with a thought, that the lalalalala-part after the "It's these substandard motels" line might actually mean something. Maybe it's saying that as people disfavour places like that, they oughtn't be noticed and everyone'll just pretend that things like mentioned in this song do not actually happen'. It's a perfect world, lalalalala, we don't want to know about anything unpleasent and so on. So people are trying to shut their eyes from the things they see. Woah, I'm a freak. |

Hm, I actually think that there is no ' the right theory' for this song. To me it seems to have so many dimensions, that it's hard to tell which one is 'the right one'. So yeah, I do think that Panic! is referring to the hypocrisy of the church, and todays society (and I totally agree with them, by the way). The message is really easy to read, and they really made it sound smooth. Perfect lyrics, I must say. Then there's the emo kid thing. All in all, I think the band is saying, "you don't have problems, you have angst" to them. And yes, I can't help thinkin' about the scene. At some point it sounded af if the singer was trying to galvanize the parishioners to do things they´re not allowed to do. But did anyone else thought that "Come, congregation, and let's sing it like you mean it" might refer to faking an orgasm? (NO, this is not all I'm thinking about, it just popped in my mind.) Though the refers to the church are fairly more obvious and they do make more sense, I still don't think that this is black and white, not at all. :D |

Has anyone else thought about that "will you dance to this beat" line might refer to girls doing exactly what boys tell them to do since they want to please them so badly? I think it makes sense, as a harlequin means a clown. So the girls a making total fools of themselves. P.S. Loving the song. The singers voice is such a turn-on. |
