| This song is so optimistic to me, and it's one of my favorites. I feel like I'm trying to listen to the advice that he's giving in this song these days. I think he's trying to say that we're all the same... we all lose and win in love and life. Let your past experiences guide you instead of suffocate you and allow yourself to open up your heart and live again. You decide your own fate. | |

This is probably my favorite song of all time right now. It's AMAZING. I'm not entirely sure what it all means, but it reminds me of my ex and my last relationship, particularly when he says, "that shape of you closes in and forms a shade of grey hanging over hanging me." I can't get rid of him... he hovers around me even though he's 2000 miles away...I feel choked by his presence even still... yet I'm sorry he's gone. He'd turned into something I didn't want, "An Ugly Butterfly," yet I still love him... and that's my secret. "Secrets swollen so sore..." Maybe the song is about wanting closure. |

I'm living it too. I'm living many of their songs. :( I agree with most of what you said. i also think that when he says, "I don't want to hear you lie to me" it means that she usually lies and says she will do things right this time... she'll do her part to make it work... and it's always been a lie. She always goes back to her old ways, and he knows it, and can't take it anymore. |
