Bruce can tell a story like no other. A great love story about a girl who falls in love with one of the bad boys and he takes her away from her dad who doesn't approve of the kid at all and goes as far as to send the police out to kill him to get his daughter back. It's all pretty straightforward. One of the best song's he's written. I love how he leaves you wondering what happened to Zero and Terry. He kinda does the same in "Outlaw Pete." I'd love to hear this song live. |

I agree with Ratslab. It's straightforward enough. Amazing. Beautiful. Powerful. This entire album seems to describe what I've went through this past week. Only wish I had gotten my hands on it sooner haha But really, these songs are Skillet at their best. I'm in love with the new CD |

Holy shit. I wish this song came out last year. It's self explanatory. A guy goes after a girl and gives her his full love and attention, but the girl never sees what she has and refuses to give it a chance. It's what I've gone through so many times ever since I broke up with my ex. But as the song says: "It ain't my fault you don't know a good thing" Just gotta pick up and move on and hope the next girl realizes the chance she's given. Fortunately for me, I think the girl I've got my heart set on right now finally sees what I have to offer ;) |

Well, I have quite a literal take on this song, but it's so beautifully written and has such a calming tune to it.. Sounds a lot like someone who is going through a lot of depression trying to find themselves inside, asking a lot of questions about life and what it means. They lost trust in all mankind and something happened to make it that way. They feel that nobody is worthy of their thoughts except those very close. Such an amazing song. I'm surprised that there are no comments on this one. So well written and the line "Life made rookies of us all in our finest year." is amazing and oh so true. Even at their best, nobody is anywhere near perfect. Anyway, I've always thought this song to be about someone that's just getting into the real life. Right out of college or maybe even High School. "Don't look down; you might fall" is saying that you shouldn't doubt yourself and you should always 'keep your head up' and some would say. If you do doubt yourself, you will get nowhere. "Don't wait up; we'll be fine." is stating how you should never wait around for others if they're holding you up. Just go at the pace you need to go, and your other friends will go at theirs. "Somehow, we might get it right in our finest year." means that if you keep working at whatever you're trying to accomplish, you will eventually get there, and it will be your "finest year" because of the feeling of success that you feel. |
