Kate Havnevik – I Don't Know You Lyrics 17 years ago
To me it seems like she knows a man she hasn't met yet. Somehow they are connected and she feels this connection through the stars, the wind and emotions which are linked to him. She's intrigued by this and wants to understand why she knows him so well even though they've never met.

The last line says it all: please show me how I know you.

Tori Amos – Sleeps With Butterflies Lyrics 17 years ago
She moved too fast with this man, it maybe scared him off, but she's willing to give him space and wait for him. She's not one to sleep around, and he doesn't have to worry about this while he figures things out. I think that's why she makes it a point to say she only sleeps with butterflies. This whole song could've been written from the perspective of her lying in her garden with butterflies fluttering around and as she gazes up into the sky, thinking of him.. it occurs to her.. truly, this girl only sleeps with butterflies.

Tori Amos – Hey Jupiter Lyrics 20 years ago
Just my interpretation:

She's desperate and lonely. He hurt her, but she still calls. She's not used to being with anything else.. only that which he gave to her. This man she's so dependent on seems to runaway, he doesn't want to be with her. She realizes there's nothing left but heartache and is forced to look at this. She reaches out for a symbol of pure innocent love to try and balance herself. [Jupiter]

The dolls represent the different masks she put on for him. The leather represents the exhuming of immoral things from her past in which she had previously placed on "the shelf" for him. The apocalypse.. He was her world, and now he's gone.

Sometimes when a girl gets lonely.. the shower or the bath will do. I think this is a decision of how to "get off" espcially now that he's gone. In other words, pick your pleasure. But she doesn't really want this, she wants him..

And she never thought she'd be reading magazines such as Cosmo and ridiculous articles like, "How to win back your man" or "He's gone: What did you do wrong?"

The doll lifting up her dress is the vicious cycle starting all over again.

In my opinion, the beginning piano notes of the song are very much like a busy telephone line and when she sings higher, she sounds like a siren on a fire truck.
