I love this song. It's the only Hot Chip tune I can listen too. It's so laid back and even though the chorus shows a more sinister meaning, the verses are just fun to sing and listen to. |

| The Futureheads – A Picture Of Dorian Gray Lyrics

It talks about the life Dorian Grey lived on the front. Before he had his portrait painted he lived a life a noble luxury. And, as the painting neared completion he started turning toward the darker side of living, endulging in pleasures seen to corrupt the soul. Anyway, throughout most of the book he's generally aloof and does as he pleases, without care of consequence. I think that's what the song is about. But hey, I haven't even heard it yet. |

| The Raconteurs – Steady, As She Goes Lyrics

This song is repetative, simple, and energetic. Nothing new. In fact, by starting a side project that manages to do the same stuff as the White Stripes and suck at it, Jack White has lost the oppourtunity to become anything more than some catchy dime a dozen song writer. At least it's not grunge. |

| The Smiths – Back to the Old House Lyrics

I've had to move away from a lot of places, and similarly leave a lot of people I care deeply for. The strongest example of this is between Texas, where I live, and Ohio, where I go to school. I tried having a long distance relationship with someone in Texas but it wound up going under. But all my memories of Texas include her. Now I'm back for the summer and all my old haunts have her laughter lingering in the back of my head and I know it's only going to get worse.
That's what the song means to me. Holding back wells of tears because life threw you a one-two punch by taking something away and then taunting you with it. |
