| Bright Eyes – Everything Must Belong Somewhere Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"let it be" i guess. everything he mentions is something that's not necessarily nice, but is natural/should be. and i think he's saying rather than trying to change it, just them, and him, be. "leave the cauliflower in the casserole" hahaha |
| Belle & Sebastian – Passion Fruit Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i love this one. the vidoe for it is great. | |
| Belle & Sebastian – If You Find Yourself Caught in Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
so stuart doesn't really sing "but somethign gotta give..." it's like. "but you've got to start some where, start by kidding on your (something)" i can't make out that one last word. somethign like "Care" |
| Belle & Sebastian – Act of the Apostle II Lyrics | 19 years ago |
okay i finally figured this song out, after reading some review on the web. so continued from part I, this girl looks for an answer in religion "the bible's my tool" "my damascan's road's my transistor radio" "i am devout" her passion for religion is described like a typical kid's passion for music. religion's her escape? something like that. but when the music for the first part returns, she's let down by religion. and yea. |

| Belle & Sebastian – Beyond the Sunrise Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| lol i'm sorry but the deep voice just doesn't work for me. | |
| Belle & Sebastian – Song for Sunshine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
lol moho you're also the only one who dp'd. i think that's the beauty of the song. the whole 70's soul-funky sound going on. i love it. as far as lyrics go, i think it's that whether if you are poor or rich, it's the same. first verse, probably about the wastes of society. the "wheel of a fortune" bridge part. sounds like something coming back to bite you back in the ass. like you do something to make things better, but it turns out worse. love the keyboard and the backup vocals in this one. stevie's sweet. |

| Belle & Sebastian – Judy and the Dream of Horses Lyrics | 19 years ago |

actually on the second listen, it's "thoughts in your head" correction to be made. |
| Bright Eyes – June on the West Coast Lyrics | 19 years ago |
afdslk such a good song.. i think the car thing is a metaphor, like a car closed up too tight = he secludes himself, which kinda ties into the verse "and i wouldn't have to bring up my so badly broken heart" part that verse is totally my favorite. "where the forest and the water become one" and yea, the girl is about the one he hasn't met yet. on the june 4th show in vancouver, he playd it aand sang it as "i thought about my true love, the one i haven't met" beautiful. |
| Belle & Sebastian – Lazy Line Painter Jane Lyrics | 19 years ago |
my favorite b/s song.. ITS SO GOOD! i love the organ. monica queen should be a member of b/s such a rockin, yet laid back song.. chec k out the live video on youtube.com it's great. so summing up what everyone said, it's about a girl who lives on the street, licking lines etc and has fun, then she finds that she has an std, and she doesn't know what to do and she sits there, feeling bad about herself, and her name, and what she's going to do about it.. the liner note from the ep is pretty helpful. haha cannibal. |
| Belle & Sebastian – Judy and the Dream of Horses Lyrics | 19 years ago |
stuart says "pants in your ants" insteand of "ants in your pants" haha. i love how simple it is. and yes, the trumpet is beautiful. |
| Belle & Sebastian – If You're Feeling Sinister Lyrics | 19 years ago |
haha the last line is HILARYous. i guess its' saying that religion didn't really help hilary.. and he does say "funny day" |
| Belle & Sebastian – The Blues Are Still Blue Lyrics | 19 years ago |
that's a great interpretation rabbitfrank such a catchy song, and you love it even more when you understand the lyrics. |
| Belle & Sebastian – If You Find Yourself Caught in Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| agreed, belle&sebastian do have quite a bit of pro-religious thigns in their work but it's put in so beautifully that i don't even mind at all | |
| Belle & Sebastian – I'm a Cuckoo Lyrics | 19 years ago |
such a sad song. I was there when you were sad I was there when you were bad those two lines are backwards, it should be bad/sad |
| The Who – Quadrophenia Lyrics | 20 years ago |
this song doesn't have any meaning. it's just an overture of the entire album, like the one in tommy except toimmy's overture does contain some plot, (captai walker didn't come home) but it's just basically parts of the songs in the album put into a suite. |
| The Who – Helpless Dancer Lyrics | 20 years ago |
great song i love little snippet of "kids are alright" at the end |
| The Who – I Am The Sea Lyrics | 20 years ago |
i like it. really sets up the whole "sea and sand" theme for the whole album and the "can you see the real me" part and how it rips into the real me is great. |
| The Who – Love, Reign O'er Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
great song i love the very last ending note such an intense ending to an intense album pete's guitar playin and roger's singing are both excellent by the way the lines The nights are hot and black as ink I can't sleep and I lay and I think are backwards it should be i can't sleep and i lay and i think, the nights are hot and black as ink |
| The Who – Cousin Kevin Lyrics | 20 years ago |
i think the cousin is the uncle's son i'm not vey sure htough. the part in the movie for this is so horrible haha (not the music but the things billy idol does to roger) good song though. i love the line "maybe a cigarette burn in your arm would change your expression to one of alarm" |
| The Who – Overture Lyrics | 20 years ago |
i love the horn in the "go to the doctor" section. great how he followed the traditional overture style for a contemporary rock album. |
| The Who – Whiskey Man Lyrics | 20 years ago |
hahaha lovely song. "i can't even ring im ause he isn't on the phone, hasn't got a home" john's great. love the horn playin in this one, a lot like the part in pictures of lilly |
| The Who – I Can't Explain Lyrics | 20 years ago |
jimmy page did play on this track, on the original version, which i haven't heard (i've only heard the live at leeds versoin, which is amazing) supposedly they were gonna have a guest drummner too, but keith moon threw the guest's drums out of the building. haha |
| The Who – My Wife Lyrics | 20 years ago |
hahaha such a funny song. john entwistle is great i love the singing in it too. "i ain't been home since friday night and now my wife's coming after me" |
| The Who – We're Not Gonna Take It Lyrics | 20 years ago |
this is another one of my favorite songs from it. watching the movie helsp a lot. tommy pretty much turns into a dictator, controlling all the followers "put on your eyeshades, put in your eyeplugs, you know where to put the cork" to become like him, and the they revolt. still not sure abvout the see me feel me/listening to you part but it sure is the perfect end to the alubm. amazing. |
| The Who – Go To The Mirror Lyrics | 20 years ago |
agreed, this song is my favorite off tommy. the movie version is really bad compared to the alubm, but still okay.. it's such a good song to start off anyway. so simple, but the lyrics and the "See me feel me" part is amazing. LISTEN to the live at leeds version. it's mindblowing. |
| The Who – Sea And Sand Lyrics | 20 years ago |
probably my favorite song off quadrophenia. i think it's about him being kicked out of the home (they finally kicked me out) (now i guess the family's complete wiht me hanging out on the street, or here on hte beach) the beach is some sort of a metaphor, maybe a place where he feels free (nothing is planned by the sea and the sand) also mentioned in bell boy, as well as lots of other songs. of course, the opening track is called "i am the sea" i love the line "come sleep on the beach, stay within my reach, i just want to die with you here, i'm feeling so high with you here" |
| The Who – A Quick One While He's Away Lyrics | 20 years ago |
the live at leeds version is the best most definately. the story about the song can be heard at the end of "i'm a boy" on live at leeds. pretty thorough and funny explanation. i love john's bass playin/singing in the live at leeds. must hear for who fans. |
