I think this song is about individuality and how some of us don't follow the popular trends. I am a lifelong Queen fan and many years ago tolerated my "straight" friends comments such as, "Isn't he gay"? It was as if they couldn't understand the genius of Freddie Mercury because of his sexuality. He was probably more creative because he was gay. By the way, I was never crazy about "Star Wars" either. |

When the "News Of The World" album came out I was only 16, and I took this with us on family vacation. My sister and I loved cruising along the beach blasting this song and looking at peoples reactions. This is my favorite Taylor song, and still has the same power it had the day it was released. Queen rules the rock world. |

This is a well deserved self congratulation. I think it speaks of what a fight it is to be at the top of the rock world. I also think he is saying that it is much harder for a gay man to achieve it. Most of the world had no problem with his sexuality but the U.S. did. I have been a Queen fan all of my life and heard comments in the past from people about him being gay. They could not appreciate his genius because of their hangups. I think that this country is finally realizing that some of the most amazing musical accomplishments came from this man. Freddie Mercury was and is one of the greatest perfomers and writers of all time. Brian May is his only real competition. They were the Lennon-McCartney of the 70s and 80s, but more consistent. Freddie was also a much better singer. |

I am so glad that many younger people are seeing what incredible musicians Freddie and the boys were. I have been a Queen fan for many years and I love this song. It has such an energy that it will make you smile everytime. I did not know it was in Shaun Of The Dead, but will have to watch it now just to hear the song in the movie. I got Freddie and Brian's autograph on a copy of "The Game" album. I met them at a local club after their concert here in 1980. At the time I thought I was the only one who was as crazy about them, but their genius is now recognized by most rock fans. |

Fantastic guitar and percussion. It does seem to be about kicking heroin. I have also heard the dragon in relation to heroin, on Steely Dans "Time Out Of Mind". In that song he says tonight when I chase the dragon. Mack was a producer on "The Game" album and I guess he is who they mention in the song. I don't think that the heroin addiction is first person or just an observation of other people behavior. |

I have all of their cds, and I am attending "Breakthru 2006" in Cleveland Ohio in August. I don't think there will ever be a more powerful and meaningful song than "The Show Must Go On". I bought this album as soon as it was released and this song seemed to signal the end. It was not yet common knowledge that Freddie Mercury was ill. When he did pass away I found this song very hard to listen to for a while. I had lost the music in my life. There was and never will be another Queen ,and particularly another Freddie Mercury. This song is a grand farewell from the greatest rock singer in history. |

This song is about giving up other things for rock and roll. It is hard work to stay on top of the rock world like Queen did, but the perks are a more than fair trade. I particularly love the orchestral interlude before the smashing ending with Freddie stating that it was a worthwhile experience. They were definitely the most consistantly great rock group ever. |
