conor oberst is simply brilliant.
no matter what he sings about it makes sense, and he does it in such a fashion that it makes you want to just become a poet.
i think this song is about getting growing up, getting rid of sadness, all of his songs relate to one another, with this movment of a hand and blankets on a beach are mentioned in a couple other songs as well, i feel as it conor is telling a story. not nesecarilly his story, but a story. |

I think this song is amazing, one of my favorites.
I think he had a friend that he lusted, and she felt the same way. They got together and everythign was different, and he fell for her. Then she dropped him like a rock and he changed, He was afraid and began to play women, He slept with them and told them to leave *nicely*. and if any of the women he slept with ere in his memory for too long, also the girl who broke his heart in the first place, he would place their memory in a song to "forget" about them. |

I honestly think this is just a joke from conor to the people who give him a hard time and call him a person who perseves[sp] his life as depressing when he usually takes sujects he believes will intrest people and writes about them, I think he's a genious with all of the weirdest similies he creates, everything he writes about makes sense, and he's very good at what he does. |
