i think this song is about a sensitive breakup, where only one of the partners wanted to break up. the girl in the relationship has never felt whole since the break up and perhaps was the starting point of her feeling inadequete. could also be about a friendship that grows apart, and one of the people never quite adapted to other people and still feels alone. |

i love how this song eessentialy is a story. it's beautiful, sad and quite ghostly. the first though that came to mind when i read this was poetry. it reminded me of those sad love poems of love and betrayal. the values behind this are so pure, the will of the man to protect the women he loves, even if she belongs to someone else, and how you might not ever intend on hurting a friend, but sometimes you cant change the feelings you have . |

after reading the comments which quote jason wades reason behind this song, i realise how similar it was to my interpretation. this song has always been one of my all time favourites. to me, it talks of the difficulty in wanting something we cannot have. it just conveys confusion and the emptiness we feel wihout someone. |

every one wants to be different..stand out from everybody else..i think this song expresses the disappointment that people might feel when they realise that people share certain feelings, regardless of how unique they might be. i think it's about finding one's own identity and striving to think "outside the box" and ignore common, stereotypical views. everything has the right to be explored in a new way everytime. |
