The government planned to destroy the twin towers and then blame it on the Soviet Union, but Kennedy was against it. Then Kennedy gets shot and 40 years (give or take a few) 9/11 happens. According to the band, it about self harm and that it isn't a good thing. Which is a unique idea put forward by a Nu Metal band (here's looking at you KoRn and SlipKnot in particular) When Chester lands back on the roof after that awsome reverse fall of his, his performance is a metaphor for what someone could achieve if they stayed alive. Although Chester didn't write it (Mike had been attempting it for seven years) he had a very strong connection with the song (as in it used to make him cry) and thus couldn't sing it live until a couple of years ago. Since then it's become a regular part of LP's set-list. Rock on the LP! |
