I know it's been almost a year, but if seven months ago you thought people who did drugs thought of themselves as cool, you've plainly never experienced addiction. Nobody admitting to addiction pretends they're cool, it's often a cry for help, or just that self-destructive emptiness sobriety invites. |

I don't know... I see it sort of as being idolized by someone, being held above what you think you're capable of and feeling (again) trapped by it. Or just as easily it could be that hanging high is more like "before anything else", and my reflection is more like "what I want to see". Either way it's like expectations not meshing with reality (so there are reservations). |

Haha I just broke up with a girl whom I oughtn't feel so concerned about, considering we dated for a very short time... maybe it was because we cooked together a lot. |

I don't necessarily agree with you, if only because it's hard to hear the fourth verse (and I haven't seen the newspaper they put out which undoubtedly has the correct lyrics somewhere on it), but this is a nice optimistic interpretation that I really like. |

It's interesting to consider phrases like "epic fail" and "for the win". These make sense because they're so true, there's nothing more to life than winning or losing (though of course that's a matter of what rules apply, just one's own or something bigger). |

Oh my gosh. This is probably The Song on this new album for me, thank you so much for writing these up! His lyrics read more like prose than anything, it's just so clear and simple it's hard to not find truth in it. As a 21 year old, it's hard not to reflect immediately on the few people who remain extremely close to me regardless of distance between us or time between meetings. And I've got one of those personalities very much so attached to little meaningful trinkets, a consequence of which is me always wearing a mood ring in remembrance of old friends. So you know. I really like this song! |

I'm totally just taking a stab in the dark here - I think maybe "Is it wise to know what wisdom is?" could actually be "'Cause if the wise do know what wisdom is", but then I admit I'm having trouble hearing the conjunction "then" or whatever that would logically start the next line. Great transcription otherwise though! |

Definitely the best song on the album, it got me into the band enough to purchase this album. I agree that it's definitely about war and the problems with it... the America line basically is eluding to how easily war can erase beauty. |
