first, i'd like to say that this is by far the best the yeah yeah yeahs have in my opinion. i'm not totally sure what it means, but i think it's an outcry from Karen O about how insane she has to be in her music/performances and how ppl expect a certain level from her everytime. but again, just my opinion. |

i'm not sure i believe the Gallaghers in that interview, i think they were just trying to make themselves seem bad ass w/ that. i dont think you can actually write a song w/o some sort of meaning to it. but this is easily my favorite song ever made. the guitar is absolutely amazing. i get chills everytime i hear it. the entire song is a masterpiece. |

I wouldn't say he is completely at her mercy, it certainly seems he has control of what happens w/ her and knows everything she does, basically like a stalker obsessed with his prey. |

i don't think that this is a political song at all, though i'm not sure what it is about. but, what Chris writes is never as it seems, so I don't see why we should believe he would change his style for this song. |

Certainly the best song on the album in my opinion. I believe it's about someone who means the world to Chris. |

ok, well in my opinion this song definitely is about the evils of Hollywood, plasticity, and especially cheap sex and how these evils have an effect on everything |

wow, people just really want to hate on the chili peppers. this happensconstantly with bands that have been out a while. their "fans" start to complain that their older music is better because their new music doesnt sound like their old music. while the group can experiment and change, the fans get angry because they don't want change. I definitely don't think you can compare recent RHCP albums to any other because they're completely different.
Oh and yeah this song is definitely anti-media and anti-conformist. |

originally i thought that this song had to do w/ jumping/committing suicide and i'm still not convinced that it is completely independent of that idea. however, now that I've looked at it a bit longer, I feel that it in fact does have to do w/ being a teenager in a time of drugs, sex, and peer pressure and then realizing what is going on around you. Also, I've interpreted it as describing problems w/ society and how teenagers as a whole can be made scapegoats for all (or at least some) of those problems.
