| John Mayer – Stop This Train Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I first listened to this CD while I was driving in the car... and it INSTANTLY made me ball my eyes out. Every line pulled at my heart a little more than the last. my favorite is the conversation he has with his dad, bassically saying "you think your old??? I WISH i was your age". Bassically the "train" is life... you can't stop it, or get off, you can only appreciate the ride. And then in the midst of my hard cry (and I mean HARD). I hear the line "you don't miss a thing so you cry when you're driving away in the dark". Which was pretty much exactly what I was doing... This song is beautiful, and perfectly worded. It gets the messag across to me and apperentally to everyone else here too. |

| The Veronicas – I Could Get Used To This Lyrics | 19 years ago |

okay... ya i do sense the subtle dirty undertone. but i stil think of it as SOOOO sooo cute. Wish this would happen to me, a guy actually treating me good. she doesn't trust it at first, but then she realizes that he's amazing, so she looses "the refelex to resist" -just adorable. |

| Dallas Green – Save Your Scissors Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
it could be interpreted at being about cutting yourself, but that seems to obviouse... (not necessarily wrong though, to each his own). as i wrote on the other link to this song under "city and colour" which is what dallas green goes as. I think its about a past girlfriend who wanted him to change for her. she was trying to cut him up and bassically mold him into something she thought was better. Kind of like a metaphirical cut and paste art class. But he shouldn't have to change in order to be loved/accepted. so she should "save your scissors, for someone else's skin". even the "never ending race" seems to connect too... like your running to win, but u never seem to ever get there with people who want u to be something else. your never good enough. oh and its "patents on such inventions" |

| City and Colour – Save Your Scissors Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Upinthistown's explination makes sense... "save your scissors" means that she is trying to change him into something that he's not... like you woudl a peice of paper. "My surface is so tough", he's not willing to change for her. -And yes Canada is the bomb, (being Canadian myself!) |

| Imogen Heap – Daylight Robbery Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
she always succumbs to the temptation (of him), her positive thinking gets her everytime. OR... on second thought... maybe its about the lime light... and being a celebrity. "winking diamonds" could be a metaphor for flash photograph. "arms stretched out" people who want her, like in a concert. The whole 4th paragraph seems to be about the idea of clubbing, partying, celebrating, and going out. but... yet the line "it gets me everytime" seems to make me still thnk shes dissapointed in herself for falling for it.... |

| Imogen Heap – Loose Ends Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I dunno if I'm right but I always thought she sang. "meeting someone at the bar where loose ends still have USES" which makes more sense to me... the unresolved ending of a relationship finally comes into play again... which many people can agree with. The feelings never go away, you just try to forget. |

| Imogen Heap – Have You Got It In You? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It makes me think of a fight scene... but I doubt its actually about a fight. -maybe about a relationship that shouldn't happen... "have you got it in you" to go against what others want. "It’s getting worse, against all the odds, It’s getting worse" |

| Howie Day – Brace Yourself Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
The girl that hes talking abotu seems to be more concerned abtou everyone/thing else, and all he wants to be is cared for by her. But the bridge says that maybe hes not inlove after all, and its just a false alarm... bassically loving someone and the feelings that come with that first realization that there coudl be something there.... -i love falling asleep to this cd... and this sets me to off to bed well |

| Lindsay Lohan – Disconnected Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This song is FULL of opposites that at first don't seem to make sense, like how can you be "And I'm at the brink, though I know that I'm empty"... But after thought it makes sense... (if u've been through it) being lonley and yet feeling causterphobic at the same time. Sad that there is no one there to comfort you in your time of need, but yet so full of feelings that you want to be alone. she's "dysfunctionally sane". I think she feels separated and detached for everythign around her b/c of her opposing and conflicting feelings. The question of WHY she feels this way can be for MANY reasons... but just the way that i reacted with it, i think that its because she's broken up with someone (wilmer?)... and maybe she hates him but still wants to be with him. So its tearing her up insidem and thats why "all in all I'm disconnected" -great song... |

| John Mayer – Love Song For No One Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I ALWAYS have loed this song every time I have listened to it, it made me okay with not having past loves when there weren't any "or lack there of", tbu now as I've sort of grown up with this song, and have had more "loves" I've grown to accept that eventually I will find someone which is what this song is about. B/c he doesn't accept that he has passed them by already, he has yet to find them b/c once they are there according to john mayer, they will smack u in the face and u will not be able to let go. | |
| Metric – Raw Sugar Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think that the term dieing in a hihg rise grave, means that she doesn't want a corpret life, like in a high rise building. | |
| Metric – On the Sly Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
well when tryign to figure it out i looked up a couple of things that i didn't understand, like: Lenny Bruce: An American counter-culture icon from the 1960s, Lenny Bruce's obscenity-laced social satire paved the way for modern stand-up comedy. (anwsers.com) 12 bar blues: is a chord progression, typical of blues and later, blues-influenced, music. the kind of "my baby left me..." songs. (And finally the idiom ) on the sly: In a way intended to escape notice So from that we get... that she wants him (her current love interest) to hate her, so she can secretly love him (the other man). She sees him everywhere "He is everywhere" I guess b/c of being a DJ, but also because she can't stop thinking about him. So to me, it means that latly shes remembering him more and more, and she wants him to love her secretly just like she loves him. |
