i agree with everyones opinion here. im sure there correct but to me it feels a bit different, just because of some of my life experiences to me this song was used as a sort of "self-help" song. a person has tried his hand at love so many times, that its taken a toll on him physically (my moms a doctor, and there have been cases in which ones vitals signs were positive, but the continued to lose breath). the "angel" may be this persons conscience speaking to him, showing the feelings hes had within him that no one else knew of. hes telling him that he needs to hang in there, if not for him, for the ones he loves and cares for him. i know it sounds TOTALLY wrong, but when i listen to this song from this point of view, it always brings tears to my eyes truly a beautiful song |

he doesnt want to burden his girl he feels that she doesnt deserve to have to take care of him usually a feeling you get when you realize theres nothing inside yourself worth caring for this song makes me wonder how much oof a burden i might be to others |
