| Delta Goodrem – A Year Ago Today Lyrics

Yeah, Delta wrote it for her aunty who died of Hodgkin's Disease - same as what Delta had.
They also played it on the radio a year on from the first Bali Bombings in the nightclubs. So sad :( But I think it can relate to anyone who has ever suffered a loss, sadness, grief , breakup etc. |

This song is definitely my favourite off Mistaken Identity (her 2nd album). I believe it is about needing something or someone, but they are just out of your reach. Maybe a person who you're in love with, and they are already taken, or about loving someone and they don't know.
Overall, I love it so much... |

Revolution is all about being strong, and that girls can do anything...as the Spice Girls would say: GIRL POWER!
It's like a girl saying "Don't mess with me!" to guys... |

I think everyone can relate to this song in some way. Everyone has a bad day, and this song is about just that. It's about having a bad day, being stressed out, not knowing where to turn or what to do next. Love it. |

| Delta Goodrem – Extraordinary Day Lyrics

This song is so beautiful and haunting. It is clearly about the day (July 8th) that she was diagnosed with cancer. It is "darker" than the other songs on the album, which suits the theme of the song - it is not written about happiness. |

ObsceneFairy - you are wrong on so many points here. Delta has not, as you described "exploited the cancer for all its worth". As with most celebrities who have an illness, including, cancer - they use their fame to promote support and awareness for certain charities or illness sufferers. This is what Delta has done. She has NOT sold her story to every magazine she can find, only very few. And she is not "pumping the public for sympathy". She is a celebrity - meaning she is out there in the public eye. If your favourite star was ill, of course you would feel sorry for them. Delta did not ask for sympathy, the public willingly gave it to her. Anyone who goes through something like cancer, and lives to tell the tale is brave. Obviously you just don't know what it's like. But then again, that's not such a big loss to society.
Regarding the song, the lyrics are so beautiful, and it's easy to see that they relate both to Delta's cancer and her relationships. However, she has said herself that to every person who hears the song, it means something different - everyone can take it in their own way. Definitely one of my favourites. |
