HELP! I saw the very end of a music video or live performence of Mick Jagger singing this song on VH1. He was dressed all in white including a hat and suspenders. I can't find it or anything similar anywhere on the internet! If anyone has seen it or knows a site to go on to find it, please post it.

I had to comment on this song. One of my very favorites... my nickname comes from the king of Marigold line. As for the meaning, i haven't got a clue. The ghost children idea kind of makes sense, though.

I agree with everything here. George sung/composed songs really are the best. This is one of my very favorites of his. I like the ending and Boss Man's story behind it is cool. This really is a beautiful song.

The Monkees – Porpoise Song (Theme from Head) Lyrics

If you've never heard this song, go listen to it RIGT NOW! Even better, get their movie Head and watch it. The song means so much more after you see the begining and end of this movie. OK, it is a psychedelic and probably drug influenced song, but it's the Monkees best song and my favorite song ever. Don't be turned off because you've heard they're a tennybopper, madefor tv band, because they're not and this is a truly beautiful song.

I totally agree with everyone here. Those who don't know much about the Monkees think it's a stupid pre-written song, but it really is them making fun of Donny Kirshner. He didn't get it I guess so Donny put it out on their album!
