I just have a strong feeling that this song is about drugs. "Walk away from the sun, come slowly undone I can see in your eyes, I've already won..." -I'm sure that in drug addiction, you walk away from happiness [the sun], letting the drug win you over. "I could bleed for a smile, I could cry for some fun..." -Knowing that eventually drug addicts will do practically anything to get a 'hit', therefore 'bleeding' as in making yourself, and others, hurt, and 'for a smile' means just to make yourself happy by getting a hit. "So turn away from the ones, who hurt everyone..." -I'm sure drug addicts tend to be paranoid, so this most likely means turning away from the ones you love who you are positive are trying to hurt you, when in fact they want you sober. "And you're fading with every day [You could've been the next one, you should've been enough for me]..." -State the obvious. This is merely a theory. :] |

I know what this song is about. Open the "Silence In Black And White" cover. It tells every single meaning for each song. Apparently this song has nothing to do with dying or slit wrists and blacked eyes. It reads that each guy in HH was arguing with his girlfriend [which all lived in Ohio, thus, "Ohio Is For Lovers"]. And so this song was written as a dedication, or gift, to the girls, since the guys knew rough times on tour would be ahead. |

| It sounds like this song is about leaving and getting away from Ohio because life is dragging on and on... thus the title "Ohio Is For Lovers" (when actually Georgia is for lovers). It also sounds like it's a girl that's hurting the guy ("Because you kill me, you know you do you kill me well, you like it too and I can tell")... and then he gets away from her ("How are you when I'm gone?") but then realizes he can't be without her ("I can't make it on my own b/c my heart is in Ohio"). It may be the complete opposite but it doesn't matter. The song is amazing. :) | |

| Beautiful song... I love this and I love the effort and meaning HH puts into it. Honestly for the life of me I cannot figure out what the lyrics mean, but giving a guess... HH talks about "falling to pieces as she walks towards the light" and then "I sleep with one eye open so I can see you breathing... following your chest bone". Obviously the "light" is Heaven and HH is talking about him watching her stay alive... It sounds like she is dying and he is hoping she won't go by "watching her breathing". It sounds like a couple's last moments together to me, and the screaming and feeling in the song makes it sound like that even more so. Great song. | |

Isn't someone missing me?" ·Here it means that even though I'm gone and I was the "sacrifice", the one who had to go, it's over and no one misses me. | I really, really like this song. This is my anger song. I heard the Evanescence version and heard the Korn version. I hated the Korn version b/c even though it's aggressive rock, it's more choppy and doesn't flow like Amy Lee's voice can do. I bought "Anywhere but Home", loved it. I actually had to read the lyrics though to understand what Amy was saying. I completely disagree with total darkness, Amy can swear very straightforward and "in your face". (Ex: "You think it's funny, what the FUCK you think it's doing to me?") The way Amy can say it is more of an immature way, as if poking fun, but yet she can add more of a seriousness to it. I liked it. :) | |

| Honestly, I have to somewhat agree with rebelprincess34. I started out hearing about how "HIM was such a great band!" and "It's Bam's fave band" (I saw them on his show, thought they were great), so when I heard this song, I thought, "Wow, I have to download this song!". Well, today I bought their CD thinking, "Oh well, I'll find other songs I like on it, why not?". I didn't like it. I've only liked "Wings of a Butterfly". Anyways to the meaning of the song. It looks like when he is saying "Heaven ablaze in our eyes" and "Hell freezing over in our eyes" something is going on that no one can stop whatsoever except this one person who has to make a sacrifice in order to save it. My other guess, in the "Gods kneel before our crime", this person has committed a sin and has to let go of something ("Rip out the wings of a butterfly, for your soul") in order to be forgiven. | |
