ok first things first. As christians our "guidebook to life" is the bible so whether we make reference to the bible or not in a song we write, in a painting we paint in our hearts what guides us through our everyday and what inspires us and what helps us through our problems is God and His word, the bible. So no i don't think dustin is going to write about buddah. Secondly yes there are references to the bible in this song. From the gospel of mathew chapter 6, if ya'll would care to read it. It states this: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal." Mathew 6:19 In this part of the chapter called Treasures in Heaven, MAthew is trying to teach us not to depend so much on the material "treasures" of this world because our TRUE treasure is up in heaven. And I believe that what all of you have said about this song, and what this song is trying to say is basically the same thing. We all have treasures here whether its our cars, our homes, our cd collections, our computers, our dvds, our ipods. And instead of putting our faith in such these things that will pass with time and that will remain here when WE pass we should put our faith where our real treasure is. awww guys I don't want to be the one with the holier than thou attitude here but Paul indeed says "Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else." and to everyone else being the operative words here. For some reason blinkfanforever feels that christian music isn't real music, but dear blinkfanforever you mst realize that just because you feel it isn't real music does not mea you are correct. Now I believe you should accept that people love christian music and we love Jesus Christ. Why is this a problem to you? I'd be willing to answer any questions you might have about Jesus if you are interested. About this song..I love it!! I find it actually amusing and love it when he says "Those here without the Lord, How do you cope? | I have to agree with Proto..on the other hand I dont agree with pushit at all, if blindside is truly a christian band which I believe they are, then all of their songs are probably going to be christian.The songs don't have to say praise God, or hallejuyah to be Christian, if they wrote the songs in adoration to Jesus (which I think they did since they refer to God in some way other the other in all their songs in the Silence album and the About a Burning fire, whether its with references like "Those red stains of love will remind your heart now ", or "Father of light" or others). And a song can have a deep meaning whether its christian or not. | |

| In this song Bono reminds me of the book of numbers, when the people of God, Israel is at the doorstep of Canaan the Promised land..and they started to complain, and said that they regret ever leaving Egypt forgetting how badly they were treated in egypt...but anyway the thing is that I understand Bono and I feel for him, I mean i haven't been the places he's been but I live in a third world country and I know poverty..and suffering..but God has given me patience..I believe bono has faith he just lacks patience...instead of complaining, like Israel in the book of numbers, he should ask God for pateince and Strength to keep helping those out there who need help. | |

I have to agree with the ones who said its about heaven..but it is not just about heaven..it's about pain, its about how to handle this world we live in through our beliefs: "What you got, they can't steal it No they can't even feel it" Hope, faith...thats what they can't steal.
