I'm pretty sure the "female" singing is Chino.. I saw them in concert Sunday night and unless Frank was playing it in the background, Chino sang it. I saw him singing during that part - and that vocal range can be done by a guy. |

I never thought this song had a meaning until I checked out the words - now it's fucking amazing and I love it even more. I think Chino is talking about people who cut themselves -- that they do it for attention. Most of my friends have, and I've tried helping them, but that just gives them the attention they want and need. The chorus "When you're ripe" is meaning that when they're craving attention, "You'll bleed out of control" - they'll cut until they get what they want. "You're parading the angles" basically meaning you're showing everyone that you do it, and deny it's for attention, and "You’re pregnant with all this" meaning the person is full of it. The rest is self-explanitory. The Deftones rock. |
