i'd say it's just about war, being alone and wanting to see the person you care about most in the world, but being so far away from them, so you find ways to remember them and cherish every moment you have had with them. To the point that the only reason he still fights is to make it back to her and that he doesnt fight for the reasons that they originally told him he was fighting for. All the things they told him were lies to get him to fight harder, thus the part "god bless you son, At least you tried" either that or he may have died. He has come to realize all that matters to him is her and that he wants to make it back to her, but hes unsure when he will make it back or if he will at all. Off of wiki: Tao is a concept found in Taoism, Confucianism, and more generally in ancient Chinese philosophy. While the character itself translates as 'way', 'path', or 'route', or sometimes more loosely as 'doctrine' or 'principle', it is used philosophically to signify the fundamental or true nature of the world. The concept of Tao differs from Western ontology, however; it is an active and holistic conception of the world, rather than a static, atomistic one. So pretty much he views the world as one only full of hate and violence, but all he wants is the love that he has shared with her and he hopes that one day all the hate and violence dissappears and that we all can live together in a way that he has with his loved one. thats what it seems like to me. i could explain it further and more accurately but i dont have the time. |

| How can u relate this song to bc.... this song has such emotion in it that it just strikes u senseless, the song is beautifully constructed. it is easily one best examples of a show of great emotion by this band. I believe this song to be one of their best, the way it is is simply incredible, u listen to it and it just strikes u that there was such an amazing show of emotion in this song and its really unexpressible. | |

I agree with the whole hollywood thing. "I'm living a lie And it's not the best thing for me But anyone and everyone is gonna hear another story" I think the first part is about how he is creating a lie to the rest of the world. Just how some other celeberties did. "I'm building a house Of murderous intention To keep it all from coming down I've gotta focus my attention 'cause confidence is key" Now hes making a house to try to hide the truth from everyone and make everyone believe that the other story he told is true and to do it he must keep confidence or it will all fall apart. "When violating trust I'm making sure that i believe I'm doing what i must Which is attempting to kill The little boy inside But as hard as i try... The child will not die." Now he is trying to convince himself that this is who he really is. But is having trouble and that the little boy knows its not true and is trying to free him from his lies. Fuck if i know if its right but i figured wtf no one else commented on the first part... so ... : ) |

| Not to disagree with anyone, but what band has not gone through a change in music before they become what they truly will become? From the sounds of it he controls his singing better in this album then in any of the others. Also is you think about the effect all the screaming that does to him it might limit his ability to scream and sing, if he were to not cut back on it. | |
