| Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – That's What Jazz Is to Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Probably the funniest thing ever. | |
| Joy Division – Twenty Four Hours Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Are you retarded? Learn about Ian Curtis's life, and then talk some shit. Just because the lyrics to the music you listen to are written for 12 year olds, that doesn't make this song "gay" in any way. | |
| Joy Division – She's Lost Control Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I just finished watching Control, and it is true that it is about a girl he met while working for a government disability assessment service. A girl had a seizure while he was working with her, and later got epilepsy as well. shortly after he had been diagnosed, he called asking about the girl, only to find out she died of a seizure. I believe he is referring to losing everything when he has an attack and how it really brings out his split personality and he loses control over his emotions. btw AMAZING movie. watch it. |

| New Order – Blue Monday Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I'm actually 99.9% positive it is about Ian Curtis. I just finished watching control (movie on Ian Curtis's life, for those who don't know), and a line toward the end of the movie caught me and made me check the lyrics for this song. Right before hanging himself, Ian made a phone call to a bandmate on Sunday and told him he'd see him Monday so they could leave for their US tour. It was pretty emphasized and it made me immediately think of this song and assume that that was the reason why it was written. "I thought I heard your words" makes me think about his promise to see him on monday "But I'm quite sure that you'll tell me Just how I should feel today" I think he is unsure of how to feel about the death. He is partially mad for ruining Joy Division, and also sad for losing him. "But if it wasn't for your misfortune I'd be a heavenly person today" Same thing, mad for ruining the success of the band. "Now I stand here waiting..." Waiting for him to arrive, but he never did. Either way, Control is an amazing movie, and so is this song. I really love how bittersweet the lyrics are, and how it is clear that his feelings are torn between sadness and anger. |

| The Birthday Party – Mutiny in Heaven Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The way this was written was driving me nuts! Well I jumped and fled this fucking heap on doctored wings My flailing pinions with splints and rags and crutches (Damn things nearly hardly flap) Canker upon canker upon one million tiny punctures That look like That look like Long thin red ribbons draped across the arms of a little mortal girl (Like a ground plan of Hell) Curse these smarting strings These fucking ruptures Enough! Enough is enough! If this is Heaven i'm bailing out If this is Heaven i'm bailing out If this is Heaven i'm bailing out I can't tolerate this ol tin-tub So full of trash and rats Felt one crawl across my soul For a second there, I thought I was back down in the ghetto Rats in Paradise Rats in Paradise I'm bailin out There's a mutiny in Heaven I was born... And Lord shaking, even then was dumped into some icy font like some great stinky unclean From slum-chuch to slum-church I spilt my heart to some fat cunt behind a screen Evil poppin eye pressed up to the opening He'd slide shut the little perforated hatch at night my body blushed To the whistle of the birch With a little practice I soon learned to use in on myself Punishment? Reward! Punishment? Well, I tied on perched on my bed I was sticking a needle in my arm I tied off Fucking wings burst out my back Like i was cutting teeth I took off Rats in Paradise Rats in Paradise There's a mutiny in Heaven Oh Lord, I get down on my knees I get down on my knees and start to pray Wrapped in my mongrel wings I nearly freeze In the howling wind and driving rain All the trash blowing round and round From slum-heaven into town I take my tiny pain and rolling back my sleeve Roll and roll and roll and roll I yank the drip out of my vein Utopiate I'm bailing out Utopiate If this is Heaven i'm bailing out My threadbare soul teams with vermin and louse Thought come like a plague to the head in God's house Rat's in paradise Rats in paradise Mutiny in Heaven Mutiny in heaven If this is heaven I'm bailing out |

| Bauhaus – A God in an Alcove Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| No way, the live version has so much more emotion and feeling put into it. It's fucking fabulous. | |
| Bauhaus – The Spy in the Cab Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think this song is talking about the social structures, not literally about a taxi cab. The line that really tips me is "an eye for an eye". | |
| Bauhaus – Kick In The Eye Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I'm pretty sure this song's about drugs. and I'm sort of guessing with this one, but I think it's about smoking some kind of drug. "And he spoke of pastures green I was never told why Each journey lasts an age " I think think part's about how when you're high, things are so much better, and time lasts longer. "My throat burned dry" After smoking it? Whatever it means, I love this song and it has a rockin' bass line. |

| Bauhaus – Stigmata Martyr Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I adore this song. In case anyone didn't know, theblanknote was right... The part where Peter recites "In nomine patri et filii et spiriti sanctum" is actually Latin for "in name of Father and of Son and of Spirit Holy", which is recited when you're baptized. For a while I had no idea what Peter was saying, and I just thought that part was a little weird. God, this song is so fucking cool. |

| Love this song | |
| Bauhaus – Boys Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Yeah, I'm almost positive it has to do with a Transvestite. "Can we fake him Emulate him?" and "Changing faking" Make it apparent of an obvious (physical) change. "Features so fine" supports the above quote, showing that it's more of a physical change, not as much mental. "Fashions alter Often falter" Change of appearence. "Lots of shaving" Haha, that was what really made the siren go off on this song. This is what tells me it is a guy to start out with, whil the rest just sounds like what DJelectricaltape said, a girl getting ready for a guy. "Slim-line trousers" and "You sure there's no lines?" Also, a guy. Love this song. |
|
| Bauhaus – Who Killed Mr. Moonlight? Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| London After Midnight – Kiss Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I'm probably wrong, but I'm just guessing... I think it's comparing his love as pure and innocent, and the other person's love as "darker" or less innocent... Said by "we're standing at the gate... you'll meet the darker fate" I'm also going to guess and say that the impurity of that person's love is masked by other, more innocent things. "my better half it's true has seen the darker side of you" Yet He still wants this person's love. Sorry, I'm probably wayyy wrong. |
