Born Ruffians – Kurt Vonnegut Lyrics 16 years ago
It's not the place, nor the time Nor that I can't keep you mine.

Stylistically brilliant: we usually say, "its not the place or the time" meaning that in the current spaciotemporal realm, whatever it is, is not proper at the moment.

The lyric expresses something wholly different. The syntax suggests that the place, the time, and the fact that I can't make you mine are are not the reasons that things are not working out.

Crystal Castles – Crimewave Lyrics 18 years ago
eyes lit
im unsure of the rest
i adore my limbs

bang bang bang bang bang die

nice breasts
like the sun
begin to repent

Owen – Playing Possum for a Peek Lyrics 20 years ago
The line "local pharmacist and his wife," is a reference to The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. I was recently reading the book and when I came to this phrase and I knew it sounded conspicuously familiar. The Unbearable Lightness of Being is Mike Kinsella's favorite book as well so it certainly is no coincidence. It's a great book, go read it!
