Rilo Kiley – It's a Hit Lyrics 20 years ago
to me it's all about how so many things in life are overrated, plainly quite lame... Like the president seems like really respectable like he really earned it. And then the second verse seems to examine the overrated-ness of optimism and the third verse of pessimism. i guess a lot of her lyrics evoke the triteness of the world and people around her (at lease to me) and i think she creates some really entertaining, yet powerful images. all you critics just aren't used to this different idea of song writing (which, yes, could be considered quite out there...but i wouldn't say inane).
