| Pink – Dear Mr. President (feat. Indigo Girls) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I'm ecstatic to finally hear a song that someone wasn't afraid to write, and the fact that she wrote the truth means so much more. Also, that the person before me wrote that he's basically dealt with hard work, he hasn't. He's got the cash, he's got the time. His agenda basically consists of Conference meetings, and standing on his pedestal reciting a speech, he himself didn't write anyway. He explains how much passion he has for this country, only because he's brainwashed so many into believing that he is the way, that he's doing all he can. If he loves our country so damn much, why is he sending OUR people to die for HIS choices? Why doesn't he go to war as well? Oh yeah, because he has all the power in the world. He's untouchable. Makes you wonder what happens behind closed doors, hence why she wrote the second and third stanza as she did. And yes, He knows nothing about hard work. He grew up in an upper-class family, his schooling was paid for, hell his father was the president of the united states. He worked so hard! He grew up in politics, the most wealthy and powerful career that's ever existed. How difficult of a life could he possibly have? He's never had to sleep under a bridge, he's never had to stand on a street corner asking for leftover cash for something to eat, he's never had to determine how he was going to manage to pay his rent so his family isn't sleeping on concrete, after working 2 jobs. And the fact that those who have to do such things, are caused from him, and well past presidents, as well as his tax cuts. But things people have never experienced, make it nearly impossible to even want to change, because they have no idea what it's like, but I believe if he did know just exactly how difficult it was, he'd be doing something about it. I'd like to see him live through the regulations he's created, to see what certain people have to go through, and live through. He has made mistakes, as we all do, but at least most can admit to them, to admit that they're actually human. This man has no compassion for his fellow people, only his almighty dollar. I'm not a huge fan of pink, but she's got my respect now. |

"I got a candle And I've got a spoon" As somebody said, it is obviously about Heroin(those first lyrics). As about 20 of you said, it's about drugs. It's just about Addiction. |

| I think AGM 88 has it to a point what this song is truely about. No need to say more. | |

It's about Self-Pitying individuals, such as emo kids. "Oh woe is me Such a burden to be Oh poor twisted me" |

Not every song leads back to a relationship. People need to get that. Anyhow, this song is probably a person who is distraught, and goes through, or went through, a lot of shit.( to make my comment shorter). But its life. I personally like the song. Either by Stone Sour, or Corey Taylor. The lyrics are the same, and its a well written song. |

I think its about a relationship, that ended, she disappears for a while(breakup); moves onto other things, has another relationship That's when: "Tell me did you sail across the sun Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded And that heaven is overrated" She comes back because the other relationship probably ended, He sees her changed, and different than she was when they where together. That's when "Now that she's back in the atmosphere" and "Now that she's back from that soul vacation" They still have a thing for one another; and she probably wants him back, thats when that line comes in: "Now that she's back in the atmosphere I'm afraid that she might think of me as plain ol' Jane Told a story about a man who is too afraid to fly so he never did land" Anyway, yeah. We discussed this in my English II class. :) |

It seems as though that is is about the singer or somebody that has some sort of emotional dysfunction, and (as cliche as it sounds), releys on some sort of drug to help in get through the situation, or to kill the pain; as it says: "Your words to me just a whisper… Your faces so unclear… I try to pay attention… Your words just disappear… " Like he's far away (mentally, as if on a drug). Then it says: "So I speak to you in riddles… ‘Cause my words get in my way… I SMOKE THE WHOLE THING TO MY HEAD AND FEEL IT WASH AWAY…" Meaning, its all..gone, whatever he was feeling (emotionally). BUT It could also lead back to love; his wife. That's just my opinion, it probably has a different meaning. |
