I think the most haunting lyric on this album is ,"I've done the damage, the damage is done
I pray to God that I'm the damaged one" It really shows how Liz feels totally guilty about her failed marriage to her sons father. Its a depressing song, but lyrically excellent in my opinion. |

I believe this song refers to a love interest that Liz had where he wanted to know all the details of her past and Liz didn't want to tell him because she was afraid she would lose him.. In turn, she never told him and lost him anyway. |

I think this song is a about a quandry that Liz was caught in. On the one hand she wanted to remain true to the indy world that made her what she is but she is also tempted to "cash in" on what made her succesful by creating songs that are catchy for a mainstream audience and getting paid well for it. "Take the train on up to the zoo" must be a metaphor for having a bigger audience and not caring what the indy scene is saying about her. |
