This is my "Screw You" song It's basically my theme song for this one girl It's quite perfect. There are some errors here though... I think it's "Your face Is never missed" and "to heal the scars and ERASE the shame Dig the grave dig the grave" "i'll tear it down Arrogant SYCHOPHANT" "I'm pulling teeth cause talk is cheap and MY regrets are elbow-deep" And i think that's it but yeah, amazing song Story of the Year is my true love |

I completely agree with JMB...that rhymed...I didn't even try... But yeah it's about a guy that was in a relationship with a girl, but he had a busy life and wasn't able to see her that much, so she thought he didn't care about her/love her anymore "Why do you look at me that way? I told you that I was too busy to see you. I would never keep a secret from you..." so she's looking at him like she doesn't believe he's just too busy. And then his secret is that he still loves her, and always will even after it's over... I love this song... Relationships suck |

A guy is in love with this girl and the whole: "No she won't wait" can have many meanings but I think it means she won't wait for him to do more for her....she wont wait for him to be there or she'll move on. When it says: "Always what you meant, never what you said. Passing over me like a book you've read" I think it means that she's a typical girl that gets what she wants and says things to make him do stuff for her, but then she says "Well what I MEANT was...." and then when it says: "But I let it fall, valet every wish. Take my hands and eyes,but I beg you this: Offer me one kiss" It means that he over-looks the way she's using him and would give his hands and eyes for her. He'll do so much for just a kiss. And during that part it is screaming "I could never find such a pretty face, pretty face" so he's taken by her pretty face, but then realizes that she's a fake and what she's doing to him. How she's using him. "I never knew how much it takes to accept that you're a fake." and then at the end it has "Everyone's saying that they're got the answers, but hope is decieving, it spreads like a cancer." I don't know what that has to do with the song, but it's beaufiful. I love this song! |

Singin Silence hit it head on. I agree with you completely. I can't really say anything else cuz they basically got my whole idea of this song. I think it has a lot to do with the hypocricy that Christians show "I glance at her too long tonight, but everything I'm saying is right in your ears" Somebody has lustful thoughts about a girl, then goes on telling somebody how wrong it is to do something like that. You're a Christian tell the sinner find repentance it's your last chance. You believer, where's your patience? Answer questions, put on faces. What about God? For you and for me. This part makes me think that since somebody's a Chritstian, they think they have so much more knowledge and wisdom than somebody else, which can be partly true true, but they are more concerned with showing people how raised up they are in their knowledge. When it says "What about God?" I think it means that you need to remember who you're doing this for. That any glory you have comes from God and not to forget that. |

I have been wondering about what the whole "Deciding as i wait for her to entertain Careful not to breath in" Stuff was about, and now I get it. He doesn't want to breathe in the bad air cuz he knows he can pull out....he's deciding whether or not he should give in to temptations of the world GOOD SONG! |

This song is beautiful...I could never get tired of it... I agree with the last two comments...Wanting to go that far, but not yet. "i feel so good i want you for all my days, but tonight... i can't stay here you can't ask me just so you would know" So this person makes you feel amazing and all that shiz but you can't go that far just yet. "Inside I am overwhelmed from holding back but know that this won't be forever" Maybe not KNOWING its not the right person, but not being completely sure and not wanting to rush into something that could turn out to be a huge mess... |

It could be about suicide at the last part and then going to God to get through the trial he's going through. "Making it home" and getting better again. If the song really is partly about staying clean from sexual immorality, props to this band! And then when it says "Inside this vacant, made-up, plastic life only your heart suvived for one last cry" It could mean that the person has been lost and caught up in the "vacant, made-up" ways of the world and they've realized this and are crying out for help..or something.... |

I agree with you ninja..dude...Emery IS a Christian band so it would probably make pretty good sense if one or two of the songs was about..oh i dunno....Christianity..?...Religion?? But as it is, I'm Christian/Mormon. When the song says "He didn't know he was hungry" I take it as when people are like...spiritually hungry. I think this song is about a young boy wanting to be back where he was, believing. When it says: "he felt the wake of torrid days ushered through by warm mistakes suddenly his broken feet took their rest on bended knee" It seems like he's realized that he's been doing wrong and is wanting to do better....repent if you will? I hope that didn't sound inappropriate, but that's what I get out of this song. It's gotta be one of my favorites by Emery. PEACE |

I agree with Atreyukidd on this... I thought it might be about God too until that whole "As I held your face" stuff. Though it could be about God AND somebody close to him that's died, like some have said. One reason I'm leaning twards somebody close to him is that he's praying to God to help him with it so...yeah that's just what I'm thinking.. |
