This is a song about John Lennon, BULLSHIT Of course it is, christ its in the title, no insite here.... There is here though...... It seems that life is tough with fame, the very thing you seek becomes the thing that owns you. The way he says sleeping is my leasure, tells me thats when he (lennons I assume) was sleeping his mind was off, no one wanted a peace of him and he could be at peace while asleep because here was tru freedom. And really, seems to find his music a place to go to be himself a relationship with his art described as .....Loving like a whore, we know they dont so this line seems to fit the assumption that Lennon workin on music, for all the love he puts in, will never love him in return . I guess being famous for along time makes you less likley to personaly notice that the world really has alot of facetts to it and at times life can be "a bitch" |

If you ask me, (no one did) It all hinges on the lines Well keep on tryin.... So we have a contrast here of the world doing its thing, "mountains into the plains" showing the selfish agenda the world has without our (humans) needing to even be here for nature to do its thing. With that backdrop, where do we as thinking beings fit in, could trying mean trying to find meaning to our conciousness and thus our lives. The God comment of "show yourselves destroy our fear" plays on the general human condition that we all fear death, but far than this, we fear for our existance after death, knowing the existance of a god would do well to destroy our fears of what will happen to us. Ie whats the meaning of it all????????/ No answer? ohhhhhhhh Ill just keep on tryin I can wait till the end of time End of time |

Just gots to say: I hate it that we wont be told the meaning of this song(if indeed it is known to another apart from freddy) because (according to brian) people interperate it their own unique way and this uniqueness Brian tells us is why he wont elaboratly explain it further. But for all of us who would like the luxury of total appreciation of this balard, WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOIN ON.......I dont give a stuff about my interpretation on a very layered complecated song whos meaning is slippery at best. I just wanna know what it really means.........But I predict this will never happen and the songs depths will become as enegmatic as the Mona Lisas Smile given more time. people, people, I hate seeing most freddy songs summed up through his aids illness. Any one who has read anything about this illness knows he hid it till 3 days before he succomed to it, so it makes no sence to wirite a bloody song illustrating it. This song was written in a car from the preview of Highlander, and the basioc premise of the song, is only.... Whats the point living forever (like most of us have wished) if love must die...ie your imortallity will see you saying goodbye to all things you love. and will love..........Suicide is rediculus (like my spelling) as it doesnt fit. So it really is as simple as that. |
