basically: faceless and personality defficient trendies and how they bore the shit out of real people. for what they lack in personality, interest and depth; atleast they make up for in appearance.... . "Your head's deprived, but your clothes are nice too." "You laugh and scorn, you're a fucking bore" i know lots of people like this, infact, i only know about 10 people who arent like this; which isn't to encouraging is it. |

explores the idea of smart yet pretentious indie kids and the relationship with chavs and the like. pretty simple really. "To have the shit kicked out of us For dressing slim and keeping shaggy heads." |

it seems that he is singing about being trapped in a relationship or a situation and it is the fact that he doesnt know what to do that is keeping him in that position. "everything is great" is showing a sense of denial but also great doubles up to mean the matter is large and he is sort of out of his depth. The chorus is the main basis of the song and it reflects what he's thinking of doing at that precise moment. The fact that he doesnt have any ideas/feels smothered by something or someone "They're breakin' both my hands" /restricted on all sides by the situation is means that he choses to "Wait right here, whilst everything is adding up", developing self affacing ironic view that he is telling himself to keep on as it is becuase he thinks time will take its true cause althought that he really knows that its 95% down to him being not brave enough to do anything. "Take it like a man I can't" "Cause nothin's makin' sense Well, how'm I doin'?" the final self appraisal at the end of the song perpetuates the time that he will be frozen in the situation and makes it seem even more hopeless. On a lighter note i like goat cheese. |
