scare mongering is when u use fear to leverage someone towards an action.. its like bluffing but with a more black mail-y sense to it. "i will kill you and all ur loved ones if u dont vote for obama.." thats an example.. wow just realized im replying 6 years later!! |

| Tool – 10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I remember reading an article wher Maynard says something about what is going on in this discussion board. It was something about how this album was going to split the tool fans into 2: Those who appreciate the music, lyrics and meaning and Those who are internally angry with the world and want to hear "The angry Tool" of aenima. Maynard succeeds in reflecting his emotins in his songs. I guess back then he expressed his angry-self with explosive bass-lines and thundering drums and screams of anger. Now I guess he feels a bit different about it all. He's more relaxed and rational. He pours wisdom with every line in this album. Look at the subjects of his songs, they are very deep. Music is a way to express urself and thats what hes doing, he changed! | |

Personnally, after listening to this song about 20 times and reading the lyrics and going fucking nuts about it, I had a different interpretation of what Maynard wants to say. I think (I dont know for sure if hes said it before) that Maynard believes in God, Heaven & Hell. He also doesnt beleive in Christianity as the religion God chose for us. I hope i dont offend anyone by this its just a thought. He says: "Fetch me the spirit. The son, and the father. Tell them their pillar of faith has ascended." which I understood as "tell those whom u beleive in that their religion is not right and has been lifted" probably replaced by another. About his mother, I think that any Christian knows that if u do good, beleive in Christianity and in redemption, then u shall be redeamed and find ur place in heaven. But not him, he asks God to forgive his mother, to take her in with his mercy because of how much she has suffered, and how good she was in her life: "I only pray Heaven knows when to lift you out. Ten thousand days in the fire is long enough" (asking God not to make her suffer hell after what shes been through) and "Should you see your maker's face tonight. Look him in the eye Look him in the eye, and tell him. I never lived a lie, never took a life. But surely saved one, hallelujah. It's time for you to bring me home" again telling his mother to tell God that she lived a good life doing no harm or sin, and that He should take her in to paradise. Only MY understanding of this song.. |

| Pink Floyd – Keep Talking Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| the song is AMAZING, and whoever disagrees doesnt really appreciate pink floyd, i mean they were on acid, they had to be fuckin tripping to write this. and david gilmour is a damn good song writer. no argument about that! | |
| Oasis – (It's Good) To Be Free Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| lovely song, amazing solo at the end but its not about drugs its about when paul gallagher (their older brother) was sent to prison, how he felt when he got out. atleast thats what noel said in an interview in 1998. | |
