| Also, I just wanted to say that this is easily one of the Chilis most complicatied songs on this CD, simply because of Midnight's ending; the way which they tie in the instrumental at the beginning to the last parts of the song, as Anthony sings Midnight's haunting chorus 3 extra times is absolutely amazing; gives me an orgasm everytime | |

I kind of think its about a crime syndicate or organized crime: "I don't want to take it up with little Joe" - Possibly, this guy is trying to quit his job but fears his boss, little Joe "This is my calling" - He knows that he is naturally good at what he does "This is the place where all the junkies go" - His main business is to sell drugs "I don't want to do it like my daddy did I don't want to give it to my baby's kid" - He is doing the same job that his father had, yet doesn't like it, and wants to quit because he has a son "This is the place where all the devils plead the case to take from you what they need" - He constantly sees bad people at his job who plead for their life "I am a misfit" - He was born into a criminal situation and a natural ability for it, unlike most people "Another poppin' Jay who thinks he's got something to say" - Just a guy who's talking trash and who the narrator can't back down from "On the day my best friend died I could not get my copper clean" - He has to kill someone important, possibly the one he loves with "a masterpiece of DNA", and when he kills her, he can't get his gun, the "copper", or his concience/soul "clean"; just another reason he desires to quit Anyway, just a possibility. |

| Crzy, I just came on to mention the same thing. I looked it up on wikipedia.com, and supposedly its coming out May 9. I hear the first single off the CD, hopefully being released soon, will be titled Dani California, the same Dani mentioned in By the Way. She is also the supposed "Teenage bride with a baby inside getting high on information" from Californication. Anyway, its all on wikipedia though I don't know how factual that source is. | |

Clarification - I looked up lotus on the m-w.com because I was confused by its meaning; here's what I found: lotus - a fruit eaten by the lotus-eaters and considered to cause indolence and dreamy contentment By the way - the new album, Stadium Arcadium is supposedly do out May 9. |
