has neone heard the live version from 'the song remains the same'??? the intro is absolutely BRILLIANT!!! page starts off the song with a fast solo, slows down holds a bend then the whole set starts playing the usual tranquil intro! the transition is AMAZING!!! |

the song remains the same is a concert darkstar dont be a wiseass. great song and laura i think "soul of a woman was created below" is a pretty to-the-point declaration and it has nothing to do with sex. amazing song, if they stole it they nevertheless made it theirs. |

this song is by far one of their greatest, it catches the essence of rock more than alot of their other songs. it has a subtle intro, and the guitar sounds utterly original, intense yet slow with unusual twists and fillins. this song has their identity painted all over it even though its different from wut they usually produce and the lyrics are just awesome, deep and bitter-sweet. i think the song starts with the gentleman caller (obviously) and the girl he likes and not two seperate ppl. hes trying to impress her yet she doesnt feel the same way, guess shes rather out of his league or sth. yet she understands, and whats goin on with him happens to her "somedays." then he moves on to her and how her relationships have failed before and how fragile she has become due to that, "u feel a little shy these days." so they both hold in common that they want to have a good time and not fall apart. i think he then moves to a personal statement because he is the subject, "i can look at into ur eyes..." which is probably about a girl who hurt him. and he links this with the feelings of the characters he talked about in the first couple of versus, "i wanna have a good time...." and then the song takes a brighter tone where hes sad but still has hopes for other attempts to work with "please invite me in...... comeon n take a spin" thats just my point of view the song may be interpreted otherwise, im not sure about the ending though, is it the same girl he wants to take on a spin or is it someone else, i dunno. neway theres really some of their best work in this song its just plain good im surprised there were only 7 comments on it! |
