Something in these lyrics suggests maybe a student/teacher relationship. In fact every line seems to say that to me. "You've been trying to reach me You bought me a book" student/teacher relations. "Don't get offended If I seem absent minded Just keep telling me facts And keep making me smile" is like lecture, right? "Baby, you've got to be more demanding I'll be yours" is like clarifying what the person wants from you, if anything at all. Perfect, perfect for my relationship now, down to, "Do you wanna come over and kill some time?" I don't know, maybe I'm nuts. Or reading into this waaay too much. |

| i think the "cuckoo" in the title quite possibly refers to the elizabethan term of "cuckold", or a man who has lost his "woman" to someone else. | |
