| The Strokes – Alone, Together Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's funny how one of the lines begins with "Lisa says" when the velvet underground have a song called "Lisa says" | |
| The Strokes – Rhythm Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i think this song is about how the strokes plan to not sound like your conventional rock group. ppl always say te strokes are copycats of other bands, but to me the only bands they sound A LITTLE BIT LIKE are the velvet underground and television | |
| The Cure – Boys Don't Cry Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i started listening to the cure after i listened to the bravery, and listening to this song makes me realize how the bravery would not be the kind of band they are today if it weren't for the cure. heck, they might have not even been a band today | |
| The Strokes – In Her Prime Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| to me this song sounds like it's about a student has sex with the teacher and then sues the teacher for money? | |
| Arctic Monkeys – Fake Tales of San Francisco Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i agreei agree with every1 else that the song's meaning is about crappy bands that dont know how much they suck. the word bird also means girlfriend so that one line means that his girlfriend is saying his band's amazing but she's saying that becuz of course she'll side with her boyfriend in the band | |
| Arctic Monkeys – Fake Tales of San Francisco Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i'd go crazy if the lead singer ever took accent reduction classes. his accent improves his singing voice in my opinion | |
| Fall Out Boy – Champagne for My Real Friends, Real Pain for My Sham Friends Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song is probably the most direct one written by FOB | |
| Fall Out Boy – Snitches and Talkers Get Stitches and Walkers Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song kind of reminds me of "thank you for the venom" and "give em hell kid" by my chemical romance. this is probably the most emo FOB's ever gotten. when peter wentz on fuse said there would be 3 more songs on the delux version of the album, i thought they would be crappy songs barely good enough to make an EP, but this is actually my favorite FOB song along with XO. In a way the song kinda seems to be about a womanizer that's driving this one girl angry seeing how FOB's always writing songs about sex | |
| The Strokes – Heart In A Cage Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song was recorded during the time the other "room on fire" songs were recorded. but since the band had 2months to make ROF, they had only rehearsed this song twice and didn't bother with it again until the recording of FIOE | |
| The Strokes – Evening Sun Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i think this song is about how society is today. people either love you or hate you, but they'll bother at one time or another and stuff like that. the bridge seems to be about graduating and giving each other keepsakes to remember each other. i don't know it's just my guess | |

| The Strokes – Evening Sun Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| nikolai and julian recorded this song together while the rest of the band was away. one day the other members found this song on the computer in the studio and liked it, so it went onto the album. | |
| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Readymade Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| the guitar and the bass sounds like something from audioslave, but better | |
| The Strokes – Hard To Explain Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
i can see how this song can be about hollywood and teen years. let me try breaking it down in teenage years first: Was an honest man -the character, as a child was kind and loveable, now as he's getting older, he's not the same way Asked me for the phone I tried to take control u kno how lots of teens hog the phone? well that's what this line's about. then the parent, whoever is trying to take the phone from the teen, is saying the teen's trying to take control. Oh I don't see it that way I don't see it that way the teen tries to justify his hogging the phone. or maybe doesn't even see it as hogging the phone. this line's also about how a person sees the world differently as a teen We shared some ideas All obssessed with fame Says we're all the same Oh I don't see it that way I don't see it that way -all teens just wanna fit in with the "in crowd" to be popular. but the teen that's being confronted about this is denying it. Raised in Carolina I'm not like that Trying to remind her When we go back -the teen's trying to say he's not like "other teens" at this age who rebel and are usually stubborn. when he says "when we go back" i think that's about when the teen passes his adolescence and becomes an adult. "her" is most likely his mom I missed the last bus I take the next train I try, but you see It's hard to explain -the teen is late for curfew for a reason such as he was hanging out with his friends or somethin. he probably wasn't supposed to do this and doesn't wanna admit to mom that he did so he says, "i tried to make it on time, but uh, it's kinda hard to explain." I say the right things But act the wrong way he's a liar I like it right here But I cannot stay he realizes he needs to mature I watch the tv Forget what I'm told this line means, the boy is heavily influenced by the tv and forgets about all the morals his parents taught him Well I am too young And they are too old he's trying to justify this action of neglecting his parents by saying,"im too young and they're too old. they just don't realize times have changed." The joke is on you Cos this is a zoo You're right, it's true -this might be about how the mom's saying puberty is wild like a zoo and it's gonna get the best of him if he doesn't change his attitude. the boy realizes this inside too. He says he can't decide the mom's saying, "his mind's messed up." you kno, since teens are really indesecisive and confused at this age. I shake my head to say Everythings just great Oh I just can't remember I just can't remember -the boy's denying what his mom saying. he's trying to play it cool. i think the "i just cant remember" means how he cant figure out his head. this part of the song confuses me the most. maybe it means the boy's forgetting what his mom told him to do again, if it was chores, homework etc. Raised in Carolina (She says) I'm not like that Trying to remind her When we go back I say the right things But act the wrong way I like it right here But I cannot stay I watch the tv Forget what I'm told Well I am too young And they are too old -same as what i said above I'll make it you see I'm ever so pleased -the boy is arrogant cuz he thinks he'll make it in the real world even with his attitude Pretend to be nice So I can be mean -maybe he's a hypocrite. like those two faced kinds of people u meet in school. I missed the last bus I take the next train I try, but you see It's hard to explain -in the end, the teen is still stuborn and a liar. ANOTHER POSSIBILITY THAT MIGHT MAKE MORE SENSE IS THAT THIS SONG COULD BE TALKING ABOUT THE EMOTIONS OF MORE THAN TEENAGER RATHER THAN JUST THE BOY |

| The Killers – Oh Yeah, By the Way Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| forget the last comment, i don't think this song's about child abuse anymore, just rape. | |
| The Strokes – Juicebox Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| the bassline from juicebox was taken from the bassline in the peter gunn theme. i also saw on a website about the director of the music video for juicebox was saying the part with the old lady and the dog was that the old lady was "scrubbing the floor" to get the dog to bark and once it did that the old lady smiled because she was having an orgasm | |
| The Killers – Oh Yeah, By the Way Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song screams rape or child abuse to me. more rape than abuse tho. | |
| The Strokes – Alone, Together Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song to me sounds like it's about a guy who's girlfriend breaks up with him, then the guy tries to get over the break up with a prostitute. Some of the song seems to be written from the old girlfriend's point of view, some from the ex-boyfriend and some from the prostitute. I think that's what makes it hard to understand. Maybe I'll go into an intricate examination of the song and post it later. MAYBE. | |
| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Dani California Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i used to hate this song the first time i heard it. then one day in school i couldn't get the chorus and guitar riff for it out of my head. mr. brightside and the strokes have the same effect on me | |
| Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| the singer sounds like a drunk, upbeat julian casablancas.it's wierd | |
| The Flaming Lips – Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| First off, a song won't mean the same thing to the listener, as it did to the person who wrote the song, so even though the FL wrote this song to be interpreted literally, the fans still see it as something deeper. Second off, this song to me seems to be about a mom from a toddler's point of view. The mother will always be there for the kid to fight the "monsters" and stuff. To any other person, the child's complaining qabout monsters seems silly, but to the mother, she takes it seriously, or pretends to to make the child feel better anyway. | |
| Guided by Voices – Glad Girls Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| my bad on the last comment I meant to say men go after WOmen with hot bodies | |
| Guided by Voices – Glad Girls Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song seems to be about how a lot of men go after men because of their hot bodies. | |
| Rush – Tears Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i'm not really a rush fan, but i heard the album 2112 is about a guy living in a dystopian society in the far future | |
| The All-American Rejects – Eyelash Wishes Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| actually munchkin you can hear this song on the AAR Myspace | |
| We Are Scientists – Inaction Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| To me this song's about being a musician wnd waiting to make it big in the music biz, but everything keeps going awry. The audience walks out on u in the middle of a song, you can only hope your friends will come to your shows and stay, you become so poor you cant even afford your own place to stay. then you feel like an idiot and wish that someone stopped you from embarrissing yourself | |
| The Strokes – Fear of Sleep Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this is probably wrong, but maybe the song's about someone who's always on his guard(fear of sleep) becuz he's afraid he'll be exploited (you chopped down my tree to get my fur). | |
| The Strokes – Hard To Explain Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think this song's about some1 becoming famous and the fame gradually gets to his/her head. |
|
| Beck – Pressure Zone Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This may seem like a shot in the dark, but it's all I got: "The countryside is overgrown There's a lighthouse in her soul Wrestling with butcher girls She don't ever change her clothes" I think this line's about an attractive girl that acts snobby, but deep down in her there's a good person. "Masterpieces liquidate in fertile tears I could sleep inside her bones A hundred years" I think this line may be about her being raped. Beck, or whoever's point of view this song is from is making a joke of it saying, "Snobs like her change after something traumatic happens to them like this rape. Then when he says, "I could sleep inside her bones a hundred years." he's saying, "Wow, her vagina is great.!" "Lizards in the pressure zone Mother knows it's only a phase." "Lizard" in this line is being reffered to as a bad,sly person. "Mother knows it's only a phase." means the guy that raped her is saying "She'll get over what happened to her." "Cherry gardens feel like ice"- to this girl, something as beautiful as a cherry garden like sex, becomes scary, or cold like ice. "Hazard lights from her past Underneath the broken bridge Hookers hug illegal dads" Either this girl is/was a hooker or knows other hookers that are having sex with men illegally. This reminds her of rape. Sorry if the song still seems unclear. I'm only 13... |
