i'm with izzo23 on this one.
pharrell is one of those singers that is very, very hard to duplicate. granted, i can see how people would be annoyed by his falsetto. i, on the other hand, find his falsetto quite alluring. it's just what makes him pharrell. and the beats that he makes are always unique and catchy :]
this version isn't that bad. i just think that jamie's slightly raspy voice doesn't suit this very well. it kinda makes the song lose its sultriness that the original one had. |

i'm a sucker for symbolic/metaphoric songs. this isn't an exception. i honestly didn't care for rihanna's music back then. now i think she's proven that she's a true artist. go rihanna!
on a side note, my mom hates this song...cuz her voice sounds "funny" and "lazy." well, i disagree. it's her lower range, and it does her a lot better. |

this is a ripoff of JJ Fad's Supersonic. Listen to it and you'll hear the similarities. At least she credited them for it.

Wow. I didn't like Evanescence when they first came out. I gotta say, this song is AMAZING. Very powerful guitars and vocals. Amy's got a really good voice; she and Christina Aguilera, in my opinion, have the best female voices in the industry. I never thought I'd consider getting an Evanescence album! =]. |

The only thing I like is the beat, so that's why I downloaded the instrumental. Don't get me wrong, Fergie can sing. This is just trash.

It took me a while to like this song.
It probably has nothing to do with the song, but it reminded me of my ex. When we broke up after a 6 month relationship, he went out with someone else for a very short amount of time (though I didn't know about it until much later). At the time they were together, I once saw them walking together and he was looking at me with the saddest eyes.
And now everytime I hear this song, I think of that one moment. It's quite a beautiful song, yet it's so saddening. =[ |

I used to hate this song SO much (read the very first comment). It's actually grown in on me. I still think his voice sounds funny...but I think it's got that in-your-face quality in it. The chorus is especially catchy.
I don't think Justin's gay. His voice has always been high. I think the dominatrix bridge is just metaphorical. Speaking of gay, I wonder how Lance Bass handled himself at concerts when Justin had to go through the costume changes! Hahaha. |

I love this song from Spandau Ballet. I just downloaded this one by Fergie and Will.I.Am today. Though I am willing to cut B.E.P. some slack (I've always loved "Hey Mama"), I can't do it on this song. Will's rapping doesn't do much to the song except ruin it. The hey hey hey part just gets annoying. Fergie's vocals are average; the breathy parts sound fine, but her voice kinda cracks on the verses (for example, on the words "head over heels") or it sounds too nasal-y. I'm not too crazy with the percussions or the robotic voice that says "true" over and over. Sorry, B.E.P...you ruined a classic. |

I've got this CD. I'm not really much of a fan of R&B songs nowadays, since most of them are pretty formulaic. I think this is the best song on it. Omarion's voice is very nice! It's very catchy...especially the "I, I..I wish I didn't love you. Like I dooo!" It makes me sing along with it everytime. |

No, I don't think that all songs have yelling in them. 2 of the most frequently songs in my area (Beyonce - Deja Vu; and this one) DO have some yelling. Beyonce definitely yells in the bridge; Christina does it throughout the song. I'm not saying that it's always bad, but I think it would be better if a singer starts off in their normal range...and THEN climax the with their powerful voice.
And just a little update, this song is definitely growing on me. lol. |

This song is definitely catchy, but I have an ambivalent attitude towards this. The brass instruments add power to the song. Unfortunately, Beyonce's voice doesn't. Beyonce seems to try too hard with it; she yells more than she sings. It's really reminiscent of "Crazy in Love," and I do enjoy the "sequel" concept of this song. I agree with the person above me, Jay-Z's rap didn't add anything to the song. Beyonce can definitely sing, but she hasn't shown her true vocal talent for quite a while. |

guyinoz gave a really good interpretation about the song. I never would have thought of that! I thought the bananas part meant something like stupid ("this shit is stupid"). She says "shit" alot. Tiesto's songs are awesome, and this is no exception. Andain (the girl singing this) has such a pretty voice. Too bad that this is the only song that she's sung so far. Alot of mainstream dance (that people supposedly call "techno") songs on the radio nowadays are just filled with cliche, shallow lyrics and happy-hard-core beats. One good example: Cascada - Everytime We Touch. Why don't they play Tiesto on the radio sometime? =( |
