Well it really just sounds like he's picking up some country girl who doesn't know any better, and he's manipulating her lack of street smarts to get what he wants from her. That being money. Then he goes on saying things like "Girl, if you wanna go shopping just call me up, I'll fix all your problems" and then in the third verse he says "Man this hoe you can have her, when I\'m done I ain't gon keep her" So where's the friggin' deeper meaning in this song? I sure as hell don't see one. All I see is a P-I-M-P using women to get the things he wants in life. Is this really the life changing message people see? |

"and you'll always be far from the things that you are 'coz there's so much that you're not." I've been thinking about this line lately, and I think maybe that Ted's sayin' that you can't see who you really are and the traits you really have because you're too hung up on all the things you aren't? Like, I guess just saying you can't be yourself if you're busy trying to be everything you're not? Just a thought. Anyways, I love this song, and Ted is an amazing artist. :) |
