you have gotten the most fucked up views on emo. avenged sevenfold is heavy metal mixed with punk. in which we get the wonderful genre of thrash.
now if you would like to classify their music off of wakening the fallen and sounding the senventh trumpet. then i would suggest metalcore.

now, as for the lyrics to bat country. i think this was a very creative song. matt has that very scratchy voice, and i like that.
now, as for the fuckers that used to be in love with but now hate a7x because they made a video and is played alot on mtv. YOU ARE PATHETIC. i can understand that they have money now and alot of preppy girls love them for bat country and waste a concert ticket for someone that cant go and absolutley loves the band and knows music. but they are some of the most talented musicians today.
