Yeah, it has an early version of the Brighton Rock guitar solo.
I'm sure I've heard the "Do Do Do" part somewhere, years before I'd even heard of Smile or Queen. Does anyone know of any other songs similar to that bit? |

Fairy straightforward - it's about a bad relationship which it took the writer a long time to get over. |

It's a forerunner to '39* - a sci-fi folk song.

"It's been good to have you around" and "You've done a lot for the folks in this town" are clearly Roger, and the rest of the solo vocals sound like Brian in my humble IMHO.
The lyrics seem to fondly remember a popular art teacher who fell in love with one of her students, so she had to move away. I could be taking them too literally, though. |

I think the line "flick of the wrist" is a reference to the motion of signing a contract, as well as possibly calling the exec/manager/etc. a w***er. |

Paulothemanio, I always took "dislocate your spine" to mean that they were being made of bend over backwards. I read " 'If you don't sign', he says, 'I'll have you seeing double' " as one sentence.
I agree with the consensus that this is a precursor to Death on Two Legs. |

The "Breakthru" we know and love was originally written as two songs: One was called "Breakthru", by Roger; and this one by Freddie. |

I always assumed it was a parody of over-simple "inspirational" songs such as "Just Say No", although I think it predates that specific example by some years. |
