| True, it is easy to forget about bands like this quickly. But you could NOT deny that you never liked them!! I'm sorry, I really like P!atD... but with only the 13 or so songs out, yes. It does get rather repetitive. But I agree with these other people. If you only have bad to say... shut the hell up! ..... | |

This song, in particular, is very much different from most of OLPs other stuff. It's kind of like.... dance music? It makes you want to smile and bounce, but it's about the world sucking so much. Maybe the music clashes with the lyrics so much (although it still sounds cool) could mean that everything seems to be all nice and lite and everyone feels like dancing and smiling, but that's only because they're ignoring what is really being said... that the world sucks underneath it all. That's my thoughts. |

I totally agree, slingas17 . This whole album takes me to thoughts of, "What if in a world entirely computer dependant there were ever a major crisis, what would the survivors do next?" I love the RK intros every few songs, and after "A Wonderful Future" Molly and RK talking is...wow. Big Radiohead fan here, as well. For some reason, I didn't link Radiohead with this song at all until I read these comments. Now I definately need to go listen to it right now! |

What I think is: "It just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up": No party would be fun if the people weren't judging you. "I've never been so surreptitious": Surreptitous= to do, move, act, etc. in a stealthy way. Therefore, I think he is saying that this isn't really him, he's just acting it out. Having some fun. He's never done this before. I believe the line is actually, "So of course I'LL be distracted when I spike the punch": Thus, he would be stating that because he has never acted like this before, he isn't used to it and is distracted while spiking the punch to make sure no one has caught on to him yet. There's my take. (I don't know if my last comment made it through, sorry if there's two comments) |

I always thought there was something to do with the military (or some other organization) in this song. "Camouflage(d) with gold. Camouflage being the typical outfit of an American fighter of some kind. So I assumed it was about George Bush and his armies involving themselves in innocent little areas of third world countries and completely ruining them, socially, economically (as though they could be ruined anymore than they already are...) That "d" though makes it camouflageD with gold... so that would perhaps change my story. |

"It just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up"= (It wouldn't be fun if no one was judging you...) "Surreptitious"= to move, do, act, etc. in a stealthy way. (... so if they're gonna judge me, I'll trick them) i.m.o this isn't a pity line. Therefore, this guy is saying he's never acted so stealthily, all this is new to him. He's saying he isn't this kind of guy (someone who crashes a rich party and then spikes the punch, etc.) he's just acting it all out and (stealthily) trying to make sure no one catches him in the act. WHY he is doing this is still up for discussion. that's what I think at least. |
