What a beautiful song. seriously. I heard it at nationals... two girls did a lyrical/modern dance to it. Straight up amazing. Basically I take it as a person wanting someone but confused about how they feel about her. She tries to study his/her face for some sign and disects every conversation they have. "If you won't give it to me/ at least give me a better view" If she cant be with that person then she'll kinda watch and wish... telling them to stand in front of the light so she can look and admire what she can't have. The third verse is a "every song she sings she sings for him" type thing, whether he wants to see it or not. She approaches each day hoping that this person will tell her how they feel but she says that either the person isn't brave enough or just doesn't like her. I know there is strength in the differences between us and I know there is comfort where we overlap and i love that ^^ strength in both differences and similarities... |

| Hot Hot Heat – You Owe Me An I.O.U. Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I thought it was "overtly individual covertly traditional" and it's definitely "told in bulk" but yeah I love this song... It's one of those annoying catchy songs that you almost don't want to like but after you hear it a couple times it grows on you... way addictive... and I love Hot Hot Heat | |
| Stevie Wonder – For Once In My Life Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Yeah I can understand how you would say that... but I think it was meant about a significant other - no deeper meanings although the "I wont let sorrow hurt me" line does kinda sound like something that youre saying... but an extremely adorable song about love and how great it feels to have someone who loves and depends on you | |

| yeah the coke line always makes me laugh a little too... | |
| Frank Sinatra – Moon River Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Ok so... Henry Mancini wrote the music... Johnny Mercer wrote the lyrics... and many people including Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's, Louis Armstrong, and Frank Sinatra sang it... Now that that's settled... I absolutely love this song and the movie of course... I like the version in the movie the best just because Hepburn has such a pretty soft voice but it's just a beautiful song in general and it definitely makes me cry too... | |

| The Academy Is... – Down and Out Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| haha yeah... definitely don't know what it could be if it wasn't an abusive relationship... and i do love the "dream of demons while you sleep/They make you stutter when you speak" and the "Speak now or forever hold your peace in pieces"... but sometimes I straight out laugh at their predictable rhymes... i guess i just listened to it way too much but it started to get more ridiculous and less poignant for me... wow this song just does get retarded sometimes... i still like it though... | |
| M.I.A. – Bucky Done Gun Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song is so fucking awesome though... My dance teacher played it in our hip-hop class because they had used it at a master's class teacher type thing... but yeah... | |

The intro type thing to the song is definitely a poem by Baudelaire A loose english translation - The setting suns Cover the fields The canals, the whole city With hyacinth and gold. The world falls asleep In a warm light. There, all is only order and beauty Luxury, calm, and pleasure. The poem was basically about a man telling a girl about this utopian land that they could run away to and be together. Trying to figure out how the song ties in... but yeah... a relationship song... she leaves in the end... yeah.. |
