| Awolnation – Sail Lyrics

This is how I show my love. I made it in my mind because, I blame it on you and me.
So come and get up and on with it, we're one with the cosmos as time unfolds, presenting itself to you and me.
We never knew where to go, only that we had the drive, to overcome oppression and evil.
So here we are and here we go, time to Sail, best of luck, to you and me. |

| A Perfect Circle – Rose Lyrics

You know, this song really speaks to me. I mean my name's Will so it makes it even crazier. I think some people's interpretation about the rose being a woman could be right, but knowing Maynard, it could symbolize something totally obscure, or simply the opposite of what is seemingly obvious (rose being the woman, beast being the man) instead, because we all know that much of what goes into perception is cultural standards and biases. Hence his song Die Eir Von Satan in Aenema.
Yet I digress. If you're reading this, i hope 2012 serves to enlighten you. |

Take this for what it's worth, some of you will understand, most of you are not configured to be able to get it. When you listen to a song, listening to the lyrics, how do you perceive it? Is it you that is singing? Are you being directly sung to? Is it ambiguous to you?
If you hear these lyrics as if they're being directly sung to you, and can conceive also if you were the one singing these lyrics, your appreciation of the song will go up infinitely. In fact, if you are trained enough, the writer-listener connection can even send waves through space and time to the lyricist, in this case Anthony. Who knows, you never know when the "random" creative lyrics that a lyricist comes up could be referencing some you know, or maybe even, you. |

| How To Destroy Angels – The Space In Between Lyrics

Very interesting, the theme of three in this song, using the different forms of her voice and another, possibly two others. The dark, single voice "what we try so hard to hide away" "still remain the things we couldn't kill..." very powerful shit. Then goes to the higher, dual person voice with the "framing of the scene" and if you listen carefully, in the last minute or so of the song, you can hear her higher voice, and a breathy male voice that starts with just a "howw" then the bass carries the voice seemlessly. However the next lyrics you can clearly hear the breathy low voice, singing in an octave lower "hate begins to spill across the screen"
Then suddenly "blinding light illuminates the scene" comes from an epic trio of voices, what seems to be to be the breathy low male voice, a now reverbing (multiperson effect) female lead again, and i swear, you can almost hear what sounds like a quieted male voice singing in the highest register with the female lead, the register before falsetto for i would guess a male tenor.
With the skull, the human head-tree, and the moon in the background for the album cover.

this may be a stetch, but while i was listening to it it totally worked.
I envisioned this song (being the first song of the album) is almost like a first person account of the "birth" of Kid A, as in you ARE Kid A. Through the repititious and somewhat primitive use of words is almost like what you (the baby/newborn)are thinking, or at least subconciously thinking. I have too heard of black and white being the first things you see, then red and yellow come next...two colours?
Also with the what was that you tried to say? Of course a baby would subconciously think that. Also starting at 3:16 there's almost a repeated industrious sounding "whaaa, whaaa, whaaa"
As for sucking on a lemon, well...i guess ive seen alot of babies with that face. |

unfortunately some of the most evil and hate-filled people i have met are Christian...the ages and corruption of man has definitely destroyed the messages of Christ, if he did exist. I think Dustin IS Christian and DOES indeed derive alot of his ideas from Christianity, but see alot of the ideals and ethics of christianity are applicable to just normal, even non-religious people. Secluding a song of supremacy through goodness to a religious group, and one religious group at that, is a bit, well, anti-Christian haha. |

The point is is that Thrice probably accepts life for what it is...an abstract but for whatever reason purposeful existence. Afterall, what makes one religion more right than another? It would seem to me, that all religions are just interpretations of the same bloody thing... |

| T.I. – Whatever You Like Lyrics

hahahah this song is literally the next best thing to the rape of your subconcious.
I mean seriously, give me a break it's not even questionable. Rapper gets super popular, when music gets to that point, they sell out for big money deals. Those deals come from big corporations, that in turn hire song and music writers/producers. "Patron on ice" (endorsement) "tell them other broke niggas be quiet" (reinforcement of fiscal elitism) also reinforces stereotypes for women to follow (love through money, buy buy buy shit). So with this in mind, combined with the auto-tuned, resonant frequency bass lines that practically open your subconcious mind, it's no wonder pop-rap is materializing killing society lol. |

Ever heard of the Lusitania, pearl harbor? Catalyzing events cause dramatic change with the support of people in their united fear. im not gonna even go into the hundreds of fucking obvious facts of evidence to support questionable doubt about the full story on 9/11. enjoy being a part of the american machine, enjoy your big mac and diet coke |

| Incubus – A Certain Shade of Green Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
the line "i think i grew a grey watching you procrastinate" refers to those little gray aliens called...Greys. There's a theory that grey's are a literal future physical manifestation of people here in the present. Hence why he "grew" a grey through his open conciousness.
Hmm...what if smoking weed created your Grey?! haha the world may never no.
Plus if he's saying a certain shade of green as an answer rather than a question, then maybe he's saying you should smoke weed? I mean he does say you were raised in a land of limitations...take flight? (high).
To me it sounds pretty compelling that he is actually for weed in this song. |

ok firstly, i think it's b-cups, not "because" or "weed cus"
My reason for this is because if you listen carefully, you can hear him say the first half of the chorus "all we need is b-cups..." etc. in a somewhat feminine way (talking as the girl) and the second half "take care of you when you're passed out..." in a more grungy masculine tone (talking as the man) |

I especially love the part after he screams "hold on for your life" where the guitar plays plays one note, then the bass and drums pound out 4, then the guiter again, then the bass and drums, it's super heavy. |

for one losing your viginity is itself epic.
"happens so fast" (yes it does, seems like virginity was here, now its gone)
"feels so good like walking on glass" (pretty much)
"touch it, smell it, taste it" (foreplay wihtout a doubt)
"cryin bleeding lying on the floor..do it some more" (some girls bleed their first time, but some guys just wanna have sex regardless again)
"its moist" (well duh)
"it's a loss, its win" (lost virginity, gained some orgamsic pleasure)
"in your face but you cant grab it" (now he has lost his virginity, probably through borderline rape, so now he regrets it)
etc....and btw...anyone notice this: virgin"IT"y |

listen to the song Layne by Staind. One of the lyrics says "the you played to say good bye...saved me" That was referring to this song. This song basically says that all actions have consequences, and everything must end, whether in a good or horrible fashion, dependent on your actions or fate. The song refers to the lowest of lows in our lives. In Layne's case, he wasnt so lucky. |

first of all, the people that say "stupid americans with your nazi generalizations. you're all fucking dumbasses and need to die.".....ok, those people need to realize how incredibly hypocritical they are. Secondly, they need to realize how incredibly retarded/ignorant they are being...(hence the hypocritical because the people they are talking abotu are being ignorant too) The reason why is because, yes, to a common person ignorant to the German language this does sound somewhat Nazi-ish. Why? Well lets see, Satan is in the title, there is a heavy industrial creepy beat in the back ground, and the singer speaks the german in a very aggressive tone, with pauses for cheers similar to that of Hitler. We all know that, Tool just wants us to look farther for ourselves. So for those that are angry at those that dont know German and *think* it sounds somewhat Nazi-like, really go think about what you're doing. |

Ok well i have another theory on what the voice might be. Faaip De Oiad is the last song on Lateralus, and so happens to be a word of Enochian language (Language of Angels) I was looking at the Enochian word encyclopedia, and the closest i could find were two words: Fisis Ca. Alot of these interpretations seem very possible and probable. I always believed this was a song dedicated to Roger Water's longing for his dad, waiting for him to come home, even though he was killed in WW2.
There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
Perhaps the distant ship smoke is a representation of his dad coming home on the battle worn ship. Seeing his lips move but not hear anything, to me meant some kind of vision of his father, like a ghostly or spiritual vision, because he wanted his father to be alive. Plus the ending guitar solo has this feeling and sound of longing, it almost sounds like someone's vocal tones as they weep and yearn for someone. I dunno, just my interpretation. |
