| good anology Prometh.. anyways, about Dave being a role model and all, which i completely agree with. Some people say that Mustaine is an anti-role-model .. which is easy to understand, with all his drug problems, and suicidal tendencies, but thats only what someone who doesnt ACTUALLY understand think. I remember i used to absolutely HATE Mustaine. I thought he was terrible, whining little baby.. and oh god was i wrong. When i started gettin into 'Deth (which is now my favorite band) i learned alot about mustaine. If he does whine, then he has every single right to in the world, moreso than anyone else. He has been throught it all. People who dont have the right to whine are all these shitty new talentless emo cry-baby bands, and there is simply nothing more to it. Now, seeing and hearing Mustaine, he one of my favorite people, and most defintly a role model for me. | |

What ever F*CKIN MORON doesnt think Lars is a good drummer should (thank you Petary791) go back and listen to their shitty ass no-talent emo. Sure, lars is no NEIL PEART, but he has his own fuckin style, and thats respectable. Anyways, about the song, it is very good, and definitely in my top 3 Metallica songs (Master of Puppets, Sanitarium, Dyers Ever ((And mind you, it is VERY difficult to pick just 3)). It just so fuckin powerful and so strong. Now, i do agree with the people who think that it is kind of stupid for every kid to completely agree with the song, for if you are sittin there on computer reading this, i dont see how bad youre life can be. Anyways, i know, i am a kid, and i (along with every normal kid) have had, and will have, moments where they feel the same way about my parents. Of course, James has the right to feel this way (hence his parents were a little wacko from a VERY wacked-out religion). Everyone has the right to feel this way SOMETIMES, is what im tryin to say. Now, Soothsayer says that the song also defends parents by saying "I'm in hell without you/ Cannot cope without you two/ Shocked at the world that I see/ Innocent victim please rescue me", but to me, that is saying that he wasnt exposed to enough REALNESS, and he was overprotected, and therefore the world seems ALOT harsher than it should be to him... so i dont think its defending the parents, i think it quite the opposite. | Ok, well theres alot of truth in what everyone is saying. I can understand how some people might think "eddievanhillbilly" is b.s., but there is also some truth in what he is saying. Although the obvious interpretation is about God, and religion, it could also be about self-infliction. Am i right? I mean, think about it, maybe that this person has been fucked up since childhood because of beatings, and then had always had a wrong outlook on life, and due to mental trauma, has made too many bad choices. He is his own voodoo doll, and without even realising it, he is jabbing himself with pins. Not only himself, but his friends/family/loved ones "..one for each of us, and our sins..." He tries to make it better once he realises it, but ends up just hurting himself instead.. Maybe its not god he angry at, but himself, and he needs to cut the rope and be freed from this hell he has made himself.... think about it | |
