This song is all about symbolism. YOu've heard the term like a sister... maybe the girl wasn't realy his sister but was like a sister. Maybe she was his best friend and now she's getting married and by the time he realised what could have been she had already picked her path. "Who's the only one?" = she once loved him. "I've been away for so long" = he wasn't ready for the relatiohsip when she was and didn't want it. "There is nothing fair in this world" = he doesn't thinkits fair that she's not marrying him. HE's talking about how he wants her and it isn't fair that he couldn't start again and choose her. |

This song is clearly about Axl's ever struggling relationships and his struggles for acceptance in life. If you look at the time line in which the song was released it was when GNR took its first real turn for the worst and its also when Axl's second marriage failed. It is also when he was diagnosed with depression and all that stuff I mean he's suicidal at that point in his life. "Sick of this Life, Not that You'd care.
