| Bright Eyes – Lover I Don't Have to Love Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I don't think this has as much to do with sex as others apparently do. It seems to me to be about someone who's so fed up with having to work so hard to get love that won't be returned, that they turn to drugs because no matter what, drugs will always love you back. Being on drugs helps them to be able to deal with the person they love. it talks about her tongue in his mouth, etc, right before he is offered drugs and accepts ("i'll give it a try").. | |

| no one said that you said tim burton was a genius... i just threw that in there because i happen to be a fan. calm down, son. | |
| Team Sleep – Ever (Foreign Flag) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| it makes me feel like it's two people, not necessarily in love, but connected. these two connected people who are so different from everyone and on the spur of the moment, they just run away. to somewhere where they can light up the stage. | |
| Deftones – Beware Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| "gunfire" seems A LOT cooler than "god's fire"... | |
| Deftones – Beware Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| to me, this is a song about alcoholism... the way he says "do you like the way the water tastes?" is sort of to say that even though you're an alcoholic, don't forget the way the water tastes... enjoy other, simpler things too, don't lose your perspective. | |

i rather like dean-ial 's interpretation, wherever it came from... To me there's a lot of sarcasm in the line "That's ok, cause look at how it feels!" Like to say, extremely sarcastically "oh, it's just fine, isn't it? because it makes you feel good, it's better than anything, huh?" i don't actually have anything to add, but i fucking LOVE this song. |

placebo covers syd barrett... I like this song very much :) Syd Barrett *truly* was a crazy fucking genius, and those are the best/only kind. |

to me, this is seriously the most confidence boosting, elating song i have ever heard. im kind of too sleepy right now to really explain but here goes: "...Look back, I sift through all the cliques Roaming the halls all year, making me sick Why does everybody try to make the cut? what And when you think you know me right I switch it up" --Saying that he doesnt understand why people would want to be labeled, and when he is/was he'll try to change and make it so he's not that anymore, throwing the labeller off track "Behind the wall, smoking cigarettes, sipping vodka I profess to catch a cab, ain't no one can stop us" --He's just out having fun... i think most high schoolers can relate. he doesnt care what anyone thinks, he's hanging out with some badass kids and smoking and drinking. "Push back the square Now that you need her, but you don't So there you go Cause back in school We are the leaders of it all" This sort of strays from the main idea of the song here, but its my favorite part. its like someones (possibley chino talking to himself...) saying "oh *whinewhinewhine* i miss this girl so much" and chino's like "well stop your life completely, cause you need her, right?" other guy "well.." chino "but you don't. so there you go. shes nothing, she's meat." "...You can't go wrong, rockin' the clothes, coppin the stance Cause really is everything you got!" I think that whole little part is just about him disliking everyone who tries to be something they're not, saying "if you want to model yourself after someone, let it be someone who just is themself" "So transpose, or stop your lies" either change now and become that image or stop the lies and just be yourself "Now I'm on the next page Its time to close the book up now" He's way ahead of all the posers, it's over. and i think its written so all the "he"'s in my interpretation can be replaced with "you". and that's what makes it so awesome to me. i'm the leader, i do my own thing. yay. |

| A Perfect Circle – Pet Lyrics | 19 years ago |

alright, i read a few of these meanings and i'm just going to put mine in here, although i'm sure it's been mentioned multiple times. *to me*, it's the drug talking to the addict. it lulls you, makes you feel happy and ok and safe. "stay away from the window" don't look out and see non-addicts out there, or anything else, its just you and the drug, and the drug is there to cradle you. or, on a completely different note, a reference to the whole bill hicks (i believe...) thing that was like "go back to sleep, america. your government is in control"... this is probably the more likely meaning. but then again, it is an album based on drugs. so i don't know.... |

| Deftones – Savory (Jawbox cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This sounds nothing like Chino to me... i think i might have a messed up copy unless it always sounds like this... | |
| Deftones – Bender (Sevendust feat. Chino) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| To me, this was obviously about a coke bender... When he's talking about the numbness of his teeth... | |
| Placebo – Smile Lyrics | 19 years ago |

...isnt this that song that goes "when you're smilin' the whole world smiles with you!" if so.. it is quite the version... |

| Placebo – Little Mo Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Is this terrible quality or was he going for some different kind of sound? | |
| Placebo – Flesh Mechanic Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I llooove this song! I think it may literally be about a man trying to be a poet. And the part about the tupperware container sounds like his poem. The girlfriend is losing interest, and shes cynical. She's sick of wasting her time with someone who is wasting their time trying to be a poet. | |
| Deftones – Pink Maggit Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"I never tend to read lyrics when they're in a little booklet with the album so I always sang "Push back the square now that you need us but you don't so there you go". Personally, I think that that sounds better and makes more sense than what it actually is! ;)" Lmao, i did the same thing! |
|
| Deftones – Korea Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The lyrics to this song never fail to remind me of the book/movie Less Than Zero. I looooove this song! And i'm pretty sure he's saying "check the pulse", not "check the clouds", but i really dont know. It also makes me want to have sex, lol. | |

| My Chemical Romance – Demolition Lovers Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I consider this a song pretty much about Natural Born Killers. For those of you that havent seen the movie, heres a plot summary: Two lovers, Mickey and Mallory, kill Mallory's abusive parents and go on a killing spree. They are ultimately caught and thrown in jail, but escape and end up together. "I'd end my days with you in a hail of bullets" is pretty much a direct quote from the movie, and "Hand in mine into YOUR ICY BLUES", Woody Harrelson is the lead guy in the movie, and as you probably know, he has piercing blue eyes. I'm not saying its not a song linked to 3 Cheers, or an apology to Kat (which i suppose it obviously is, after reading the liner notes), i'm just explaining the links to the movie here. Remember kids, love kills the demon. | |
| Placebo – I Know Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| "you love the song but not the singer" --- a few months ago one of my best friends used this line to show me how i truly felt about my (now EX) boyfriend. i loved the song but not the singer, as in i didnt love *him* i just loved *love* and thats sort of what the whole song means to me... | |
| Placebo – Pure Morning Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"Boxing clever is a phrase used to mean avoiding what is coming to you, especially if it is harmful. In boxing it means avoiding being punched. What this means in the context of the song, I have no idea" Maybe its saying shes "avoiding being punched" by not being pregnant? that just seems to make sense even though i agree with the majority of the people here that say the female in the song does end up pregnant...idk.. |

| Placebo – Protege Moi Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| *(he feels like he should break up with person, but he just knows he should stick with them)...sorry people, its 3:00 am here and my mind isnt working correctly | |
| Placebo – Protege Moi Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| oh, what a *beautiful* song... makes me want to speak french... and has anyone ever seen the non pornagraphic version of the video? with Brian playing the harmonica? ever so sexy... and this is much better than Protect Me From What i Want. to me, its about a relationship drawing to a close, and as much as he'd like to continue, he knows he can't... or possibly the opposite? (he knows he should break up with the person, but he just knows he should stick with them) | |
| Placebo – Pierrot The Clown Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this is my hands down *favorite* off the new album... i think you all might be looking a bit too deeply into the whole "...look so brown" lyric. To me, its just a plain and simple song about abuse and how it can make someone feel. Even though the person in the song is being abused they still have an attachment to the person who is abusing them ("be sure to come around") | |
| Placebo – Space Monkey Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| my favorite off Meds, next to Pierrot the Clown. i believe "i died inside her" is a Shakespearen (ugh..sp?) reference to orgasm? a very sexy song, in my humble opinion. | |
| Self – So Low Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| haha, the only song about wanting to kill yourself that makes me giggle and sing along | |
