Yeah it's about how certain groups of people always have some sort of message attached to them like 'oh if you're a cheerleader you must be stuck up and rich' or 'oh you like rainbows you must be gay'... not just the goth or punk kids. Any group of people will have a stereotype about them. I think it's also about how depression and how it can mix in with people's lives. |

Everyone who's saying that they sold out are idiots.
They don't CHOOSE to be on Mtv. Most the time, they won't even know that their videos or music is being played on mtv or anything like that. It's not like MTV is going to call them and be like "Hey is it cool if we use your video on our channel?" No. They're not going to do that. And just because now their band is making it big doesn't mean they're selling out. They don't choose to be sucessful but they sure as Hell appreciate it. Every band wants to be sucessful and not have to rely on a minimum wage job to support themselves. Believe it or not, underground bands don't make a lot of money. They barely make money. Even now, the Distillers probably don't have that much money. The record label is what gets most of the money. Then a tiny bit of it goes to the band who pays their set-up crew [which every even semi-famous band needs] , pay for gas, pay for a tour bus or a hotel and they also have to pay for food. It's not like as soon as they have a hit and get played on MTV they're gonna be rich. |

It's about Beatz. Will said so. It's good that you can interpret it in your own way, though. And it's "infect your perfect sliced up skin" because John flew through the windshield when the car crashed, thus resulting in a bloody mess as you can imagine. Who knows what Will was thinking when he wrote the things that don't seem to relate at all, but trust me, it's about Beatz. The rest that doesn't seem to relate is probably metaphorical. |

Thanks for the info, Melon. From what I know, he was the guy that got Will into punk music when they were really young and I'm pretty sure he played in the same band as Will [the first band Will had ever been in] and When Will was 20 or 21, he was walking home from a show and a drunk driver hit him. Then again, I also read that the same guy who got Will into punk music also got Will into smoking marijuana or something. But I don't know.

Just thought I'd add in here that just because you're on MTV doesn't make you a sell-out. Half the time, they don't even KNOW they're on MTV. MTV's network people just say "Hmm let's play this music video on our set today." and the band doesn't even know.
And ANY band will want to be succesful and make money. No band is going to say "I would never want to be succesful, I don't want to get money." And if they DO say that then BULLSHIT- they're lying! There's not one band, or person for that matter, out there that doesn't want the security of having money and not having to work shitty low-pay jobs to pay for a shitty appartment.

Aiden isn't satanic or anti christian. They don't have an official organized religion either. Theres an interview with all of them where they talk about their thoughts on religion, one of them said that they've been studying christianity, another said that they don't have an organized religion but it's great that people have faith in somethinglike a religion... and yeah even wiL has a jewish star tattooed on him for his mom, but he's jewish by blood not religion.
But yeah even though they sometimes act like they're anti christian, they're not. I'm christian and I love them to fucking death. They're all super chill guys. |
